Brienz was a member of the Haslital Berner Oberland Destination until 31 December 2008. But on 8 February 2009, a legendary vote was held at the initiative of the IGTB Association (Tourismus Brienz interest group) at which the population of Brienz clearly spoke out in favour of resigning from the aforementioned Destination.
Since 1 May 2009, following the signing of the co-operation agreement, Brienz Tourismus has been an official partner of the TOI umbrella brand (Tourismus Organisation Interlaken). The managers in charge of Brienz Tourismus now look forward to a successful co-operation with the world-famous destination on the Bödeli.
