Whether an easy cycling trip with the whole family, a mountain-bike tour with friends or a serious training session, the Interlaken holiday region offers a challenge to biking enthusiasts of every age and ability. The scooter-bike run on the Niederhorn is a fun-filled attraction for the whole family.

Cycling Tours

The Interlaken holiday region offers an excellent choice of well-marked cycling tours for all ages. Information on circular routes and detailed mountain-biking and cycling maps are available at Tourist Information offices and book shops.



A: Interlaken–Matten–Wilderswil–Bönigen

12 km / 50 m total climb

 

B: Interlaken–Goldswil–Ringgenberg

14 km / 120 m total climb

 

C: Interlaken–Unterseen–Wilderswil–Bönigen

21 km / 100 m total climb

 

D: Wilderswil–Gsteigwiler

8 km / 150 m total climb

Mountain-bike Tours

Interlaken and the Jungfrau Region boast over 320km of signposted biking routes suitable for all levels of skill and stamina, from absolute beginner to experienced biker. Several companies offer guided biking tours. Tour suggestions and maps are available at Tourist Information offices.



Tour around the Faulhorn

Interlaken-Wilderswil-Grindelwald-Grosse Scheidegg-Meiringen-Iseltwald-Interlaken

76 km, surfaced 65,5 km, unsurfaced 10,5 km/total climb 1650m/stretches where bike must be pushed 0 km/steep ascents, 7,8 km

 

Around the Hohgant

(Interlaken)-Habkern-Lombachalp-Schärpfenberg-Kemmeriboden-Schangnau-Kleiner Gemmipass-Grünenbergpass-Habkern

39 km, surfaced 26.5 km, unsurfaced 12,5 km/total climb 1209 m/stretches where bike must be pushed 0,3 km/steep ascents 4,8 km

 

Around the Mürren terrace

Interlaken-Lauterbrunnen-Stechelberg-Wasserbrigg-Mürren-Grütschalp-Isenfluh-Zweilütschinen-Interlaken

32 km, surfaced 17 km, unsurfaced 15 km/total climb 1080 m/stretches where bike must be pushed 0,5  km/steep ascents 0,5 km

 



Scooter-bikes

Scooter-bike fun. Scooter biking, a popular pastime for over one hundred years, is now enjoying a renaissance. No special knowledge is needed, it’s almost as easy as walking and ideal family fun. The old favourite is a welcome celebrity on Beatenberg’s mountain roads. The scooter-bike offers a racy downhill run with a kick!



Two variations:

 

«Diretissima»-Way

Ascent with the Niederhorn Cableway to Mittelstation Vorsass.

Descent with scooter from Vorsass to Beatenberg, 6 km

 

«Flanierama»-Way

Ascent with the Niederhorn Cableway to Mittelstation Vorsass.

Descent with scooter Bodenalp-Rischeren-Waldegg through the village of Beatenberg to the station of the Niederhorn cableway, 12 km
