By postbus to Saxeten, where the path leads into the valley to the Alpine huts at Nessleren. It then climbs left to Alpine storage huts on unteren and oberen Bällen. Wonderful area for Alpine roses. A little further up you reach the saddle separating the Saxetal and Sylertal (valleys). After another 15 minutes, you reach the spectacular vantage point of Bällenhöchst (2083 m) to be rewarded with impressive views into the deep gashes of the Lütschinen valleys, Wilderswil, Lakes Thun and Brienz and the surrounding mountain world. Descent through the romantic Sulstal (lake), along below the steep, jagged Lobhörn peaks to Isenfluh (1081 m). Return by bus to Lauterbrunnen and train to Wilderswil or retrace your steps to Saxeten.
This tour can also be made over two days, with overnight accommodation in Saxeten or the Lobhorn hut.
