Enjoy a panoramic trip aboard the Grindelwald-Männlichen Gondola Cable Car. The journey takes you from Grindelwald Grund up to the Männlichen in 35 minutes. The breathtaking mountain view of the Jungfrau region will be with you before, during and after the trip. Once at the top, a diverse range of activities and experiences await in the beautiful natural surroundings.
Float towards the Männlichen from Grindelwald Grund in small, bright red, yellow or orange gondolas. When the Grindelwald-Männlichen gondola cable car opened in 1978 it was over six kilometres long, and the world’s longest gondola cable car at that time. The comfortable 1280 m climb up to the Männlichen takes a little under 35 minutes. Throughout the trip you can enjoy the view of the mighty Eiger’s north face and the surrounding mountain peaks. Quietly glide over the captivating and beautiful natural landscape of the Männlichen area. The Summit station is located next to the Berghaus Männlichen hotel and restaurant. Many mountain and nature experiences await you up here, at any time of the year.
Grindelwald-Männlichen Gondola Cable Car and Jungfrau Railways are currently building the V-Cable Car, which will open up both the Eiger Glacier and the Männlichen. The Grindelwald-Männlichen Gondola Cable Car conversion phase began in summer 2018. A joint terminal is being built in Grindelwald. From there, a 3S-cable car will take you to the Eiger Glacier, while a ten-seater gondola will bring you up to the Männlichen. The Männlichen route is scheduled to open on 14 December 2019, while the Eiger Glacier section is due to open one year later, on 12 December 2020.
