Stroll through the wintry streets from Interlaken Ost to Interlaken West and discover a range of creative works of art along the way in the main squares of the city. The wooden sculptures, produced by students at the Gymnasium Interlaken secondary school, are displayed at various sites around town each winter.

Made by class 18b at Gymnasium Interlaken, the Stag captivates viewers of all ages with its imposing scale, its impressive design using pieces of local driftwood and its delicately rendered stars. This majestic sight welcomes you on Postplatz in Interlaken.
Take a seat in it, lean back and count the stars and concealed lights of the "Stärneband". This fascinating object produced by classes SFBG 23ad is roof batten art at its finest. Made from a ton of spruce wood sourced from the Bernese Oberland, the looping structure is a place for people to meet, unwind and enjoy a chat. You can find the "Stärneband" in Interlaken's Kursaal Park.
Just outside Interlaken Ost station, a family of ibex welcomes you to the scene of a cosy winter fondue. "Say Cheese" is the motto for this artwork, which was created by classes 21abc at the Gymnasium Interlaken. Snap a fun selfie as you join up with friends – then share it with loved ones at home via the hashtag #Winterlaken.
Wearing a blue scarf, the Winter Bear skates around in front of Migros Interlaken. Class SFBG23 of the Gymnasium Interlaken sets out to show the sporty side of this proud Bernese heraldic beast.
Hop into a horse-drawn carriage for a ride through the snowy streets of Interlaken, stopping off to enjoy the artworks and pop-up chalets. On Fridays, Saturdays and on the Sunday shopping day, local craftspeople and charitable organisations present their products in pop-up chalets. Come and admire their specialities and unique creations on Marktplatz, Postplatz, in front of Migros Interlaken and at Interlaken Ost. Don’t miss the chance to ride a horse-drawn carriage to these attractions. Those who don’t wish to walk too far can relax in the Christmas carriage and travel to the pop-up chalets in comfort. The carriage operates from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm on all Saturdays over the Christmas period, and from 11.00 am to 4.00 pm on the Sunday shopping day. The round trip takes around 30 minutes.
