What a gem! India Village Restaurant truly lives up to its top ranking in Interlaken. We ordered the butter chicken, vegetable biryani, and fish curry, and every dish was absolutely awesome. Rich, flavorful, perfectly spiced, and authentically Indian without being overly heavy or oily. The butter chicken was creamy and tender, the vegetable biryani fragrant with fresh veggies and aromatic rice, and the fish curry had just the right kick with succulent and really fresh fish pieces. But what made the experience even better was the owner: incredibly friendly, humble, and attentive. He made us feel so welcome and ensured everything was perfect. If you’re craving real Indian cuisine in Switzerland, this is the place. Highly recommend we’ll be back!

Don't let the place mislead you. Food is good, staff are friendly, well priced and clean. Is frequented by locals as well so you know it is good. You can choose how spicey you want your food.

Spectacular location and historically classic facilities but the best part was the warmth and personal attention provided by all members of staff across all amenities! The Kids Club and Spa were next level. Felt very welcoming and caring overall. Highly recommended.

Excellent Italian restaurant, even for those not staying at the hotel. The food was delicious, well prepared, and full of flavor. The highlight of the experience was the service provided by Rodolfo — attentive, professional, and genuinely kind. He made us feel very welcome and truly elevated our evening. Highly recommended. We would definitely return.

A must-do during a day trip to or stay in Interlaken. Hands down the best meal we had in Switzerland. Our server, Abraham, was extremely attentive… the service was incredible. It is located at the Royal St. Georges Hotel, which is a great option to stay since it is located just a 7 minute walk from the Interlaken OST train station. The restaurant had an elegant yet cozy ambiance. The music playing was GREAT. It was a mix of the blues and jazz with a touch of soul and a lot of heart, which embodies the people and food at this restaurant. We had the most delicious white carrot soup, which is only grown in Switzerland and Germany. As a big soup lover, this easily made my top 3 of best soups I’ve ever had with just one spoonful. The presentation and quality of the ingredients are unmatched. You must have a fondue pot with heirloom tomatoes, potatoes, bread, and pearl onions. The cheese was so buttery and smooth. The chicken cordon bleu was a perfect crispy rendition to the traditional French dish. For dessert, we had the banana split. We were not prepared for how the chef turned a simple American classic to such an elevated yet delicate dish. The three scoops of ice cream complimented the banana, which was caramelized in oranges. The chocolate mousse was so fluffy and light. Overall amazing dining experience we will never forget. Do your taste buds a favor!

Absolutely a fantastic experience. Staff was excellent and professional throuout the whole stay. I was there for my annivrsary we found flowers and chocolate in the room. Spa also was superb. Highly recommended.

Very central and great for the train station about 3minute walk. Hotel very basic with little in the room but it was clean and the shower was good as was the bed, very comfy.

Food was good, atmosphere was lively but quite noisy. Lots of groups and there was entertainment for the groups from what appeared to be the owner. Reasonably priced

I was joined by another soloist and we learned about different cheeses and different wines before we learned how the make the fondue. We also has some time to play games. It was a great time and I highly recommend!

Amazing hotel, nothing bad to say at all! All staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Our room was ready early so we were able to check in as soon as we arrived! The room was perfect; very clean and modern, comfortable bed, good amenities and facilities. The view from our balcony was amazing. Breakfast was great, lots of choice and a good way to start the day. Free coffee machine in the main lobby was a nice touch. Location was perfect, just outside Interlaken West station and shops and restaurants all very close. Thank you for a perfect stay!

While the location is slightly off but the place is nice and the ambience is great. Service is superb. The cheese fondue is nice, creamy and great combo with all the compliments.

Webster’s dictionary should put Metropole’s photo next to its definition of a great hotel. No exaggeration. The check in was quick, utterly professional and friendly staff paid attention to what we needed as two older guests after a long day of traveling, and got it done with empathy. Room was tastefully appointed and functional - plenty of charging ports, great water pressure in the shower, quiet with a great view, space well used for necessities rather than silly over-furnishing. Housekeeping was great, so were the lovely staff in the restaurant (great food by the way), and the front desk staff are the real assets of the hotel. Everything worked as it should, we rested well, got all our questions about sightseeing or nearby restaurants, markets promptly answered, rooms and common areas were impeccable and we felt safe staying there. Book your stay at the Metropole, you won’t be sorry!
