Stroll along the Aare quay, enjoying views of the River Aare and the mountains

This beautiful promenade extends along the River Aare, from the old town of Thun to Hünibach. The Aare quay and Brahms quay, which are open to pedestrians and cyclists, offer stunning views of the peaks of the Bernese Oberland.

The promenade along the River Aare is around 2 km in length. Walk from Mühleplatz towards Oberherrenhaus and the Thunerhof, where children can run around in a playground. Farther along the Aare is the Brahms quay. Relax on the lawn by the fountain of the Three Graces, and see the Brahms monument beneath a giant redwood tree. Walk to the Hünibach landing stage, from where a solar boat shuttle service runs between Schadau Park, the lido and the Hofstetten jetty on summer weekends. Combine your stroll along the Aare quay with a boat trip on Lake Thun by starting your walk from the Hünibach landing stage. As you walk towards Mühleplatz, attractive views of the old town of Thun open up.
