we went here for our honeymoon 20 yrs ago and returned for a visit
We were disappointed in the food and the service was very slow We waited a long time for bread and salad sauce then we waited and waited for our bill at the end . I don't think we will be returning. they did however have enough parking spaces.

Good place for spending relaxing holidays
We stayed in the Solbad Hotel for two nights in July and it was my first visit. The Hotel is what I’m expecting but located within a stunningly beautiful landscape (lake-side view is highly recommended :-)) I can recommend this hotel for wellness & Spa especially because of the location.

Out of time and into the heat
The scenery is breathtaking, the views over Lake Thun are magnificent. The hotel looks nice from the outside, a couple of chalets assembled together and connected within. The garage is a bit narrow and, of course, made for cars 50 years ago. The parking reservation system is charming, but it does not work, as really no one is interested, if a peculiar parking space is reserved. Maybe the little note should be bigger and also written in English. The welcome at the reception was a bit cool and unenthusiastic. Then the journey started. The journey to get to your room. Up the stairs and elevators, through gangways, more elevators, and everything also here narrow. There was a mix-up with the rooms and we landed in a room, where there were already people inside. After arriving finally, the room was quite OK. Not really 4-star in my opinion. There was a balcony, but not really with a view and it looked a bit shabby. Where were the flowers you see in front of every chalet otherwise? But a detail. It is a hot summer in Switzerland and it felt like having the hottest hotel room in this country. 30 C degrees - and without a chance of getting it cooler even at night. The hot air was stuck and made the whole stay very awkward. Of course, the hotel cannot be made responsible for the climate change, but there should be thoughts of investing in climatisation. The breakfast buffet was lovely and staff were nice and efficient. The offered food was fine. The SPA is a bit old-fashioned. The brine bath seems to be useful for medical reasons, but not exactly for swimming. The outside pool is small, but nice - as long as you pass the bees unharmed. All in all the stay was OK, but not more. And the hotels needs some refurbishment and even upgrade regarding the climatisation - or at least, that would be the hope.

    Solbad Hotel Wellness Centre
We have attended this hotel twice to use the wellness centre facilities. We are not hotel guests but we are able to attend for a fee. It is not cheap but you can use the facilities for the entire day and leave the centre to eat and then return which is what we have done. It is a very relaxing way to spend a day particularly after all the walking we have been doing. The young people at the reception desk are lovely and kind even with a language barrier and the restaurant is also very good. We have had a light meal and a sit down meal and both were very good and service was wonderful. Highly recommended.

    Look further ...
Maybe they take seminar guests as a given. In any case it seems that this class of guests doesn't deserve a friendly treatment. Rooms were ready in mid-afternoon only, which for me meant after the conclusion of the seminar day. So it struck me to hear that I was expected to check out before 10.00 a.m. on the following day. All this in a "next please" kind of tone. Shoe polish & sewing kit, laundry bag, welcome fruit platter, complimentary drinking water - all items you commonly expect in a 4 star hotel were missing. The lunch buffet was less than average, although colleagues later told me that their dinner was much better. The only passable experience were their seminar facilities.

Exlent hotel, great view, great location and amazing spa
We spend 4 night at this hotel with a rent car. Rooms very big, very good atmosphere. The spa is great... One outside pool 35 degree, and one indoor pool 35 degree and jacuzzi. Also sauna and hot tub open between 7-21.the view from the pools are magnetic. We order a room whiteout view to the lake. Not cheap but recommended

    Superb Family Run Hotel
It was great to stay in Solbad hotel, I found all the staff very friendly and cooperative. The hotel offers delicious food especially the breakfast is good.! Rooms are not too specious but they remain quite and comfortable. The hotel is run by a sweet family - I noticed the hotel owner himself serving the guests which looked impressive.! The sauna, steam-bath and swimming-pool are so cool. The hotel is located in a beautiful area. I'd love to stay in the hotel again.!

The most friendly hotel I have ever stayed in!
I spent a week in the hotel 12-17 June 2017 for a course. The hotel is fantastic. The staff the most friendly I have ever encountered in a hotel and I have stayed in hundreds around the world! The views from my room in the annex were out of this world. The food was lovely and the spa amazing. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

    Relaxing Holiday
The hotel is on a beautiful sunny plateau high above the Lake Thun Riviera, with a fantastic views over the lake and mountains of the Bernese Alps. We stayed one week away of the noise in a very quite area. The free of charge public transport allow us to spend our time around in Interlaken, Thun and others. The hotel staff were so friendly and helpful. We had a room with a fantastic view.

    If you want a rest
If you would like a rest but have all the facilities of a spa this is the hotel for you. It has a salt water pool, jecuzzi inside and out with beautiful scenery over the lake of Thun. The food is very good and the bed rooms are spacious with on suite bath/showers. There are lovely walks and you get free bus to Thun and surrounding areas. The staff and management are very friendly and helpful.
