Visit to the alp Justistal

  • Beatenberg

Witness the day-to-day work of a dairyman up close

Hike to an alpine hut in the Justis valley and experience the everyday life of an alpine dairyman at close quarters. Culinary needs are also catered for with a dairyman’s breakfast to round off the visit. An authentic alpine experience awaits between Beatenberg and Sigriswil.

During the alpine summer, pay a visit to an alpine hut in the Justis valley and watch the dairyman perform his daily tasks. Drive to the ruggedly romantic Justis valley, leave the car at the "Püffelboden" and embark on the one-hour hike to the mountain pasture. On arrival at the cabin, the dairyman will explain his work and take you on a tour of discovery in which you learn all there is to know about life on a pasture. Explore the surroundings for yourself and get to know the animals that graze there. The experience culminates with a small dairyman’s breakfast, largely prepared using home-made ingredients. This visit to the idyllic Justis valley is fun for people of all ages.
