From Grindelwald First to Bachsee

This hike needs no big introduction. In the Jungfrau region it ranks high in popularity. With the Firstbahn you float comfortably uphill from Grindelwald, then from the mountain station First you continue on foot almost just as comfortably. The path is wide, losing your way is impossible, because on sunny days many hikers want to go to the Bachsee, more often also called Bachalpsee. It is unbelievably beautiful there: Wetterhorn, Schreckhorn, Finsteraarhorn, Klein and Gross Fiescherhorn reflect photogenically in the clear mountain lake on sunny, windless days – stealing the show for once from the famous trio Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. Many other well-known Grindelwald mountains, from Reeti to Schwarzhorn, can of course also be seen on this easy and short hike. Once back at the First mountain station, there is still plenty of time to walk the 'First Cliff Walk', a summit circular trail consisting of suspension bridge, rock path, and viewpoint.
