The Lake Thun panoramic circular route from Interlaken to Spiez

The third stage of the panoramic circular route is also the most demanding. The trail from Interlaken to Därligen is easy enough at first, but climbs steeply after the Meielisalp above Leissigen. Once at the top, the views of Lake Thun are simply breathtaking. Take a break here and gather your energies for the next highlight of the walk: the 142-metre panoramic bridge at Leissigen is not far away, leading hikers over the Spissibach stream almost 60 metres up. The simplicity and stability of the bridge are impressive; crossing it is an experience for hikers of all ages. After Krattigen, the path heads downhill to the Faulensee. From here, the stunning lakeside path leads directly to Spiez, the loveliest bay in Europe, complete with historic castle and lush vineyards.
