- Destination: Heiligenschwendi/Alpenblick
From the Bern Rehabilitation Center in Heiligenschwendi, follow along the clinic buildings to the end of the second parking lot. From there, follow the signpost towards Niesenbänkli - Ringoldswil, circular route no. 7. The path first follows the road for about 300 m then turns right into the Brüggliwald forest. The soft forest floor underfoot is especially enjoyable. This path continues along the northern slope of the Brüggliwald. Large ferns and green moss areas line the trail. Between the fir trees, there are ever-repeated views of Heiligenschwendi, Goldiwil, later of Lake Thun and the Stockhorn. After about an hour the path ascends and leads to Schwändli-Allmit towards Bruchhubel. After crossing small streams, you tackle a short, steep section after Hinterport up to Bruchhubel. Here opens a unique view of the Niesen, across Lake Thun with Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau in the background. It's worth resting for a moment on the "Niesenbänkli" and soaking in the view! Refreshed and enriched by the beautiful landscape, you start the return. It goes downwards across a lush meadow towards Chrinde. After the restaurant Krindenhof, the path follows the road for about 15 minutes. Then you enter the Brüggliwald again and descend to a tributary of the village stream. After crossing the stream via a wooden footbridge, you climb again and follow the signpost Heiligenschwendi/Schwendi past stately houses up to Schwendi, Alpenblick stop.
