Rundgang «Ballenberg à la Carte»

1.75 km long
Thematic Trail
The compact, wheelchair-accessible circular route takes you past twelve stations. Each station features a video, viewable by QR code, in which experts share their knowledge.

Ballenberg à la Carte: a menu that satisfies your appetite for knowledge.

Experience the Ballenberg Open-Air Museum in compact form on this new circular route, equipped with the Ballenberg "à la Carte" menu and your smartphone. In a series of fascinating short films across twelve stations, Ballenberg’s experts offer in-depth insights on the everyday life, buildings and crafts.

The films are viewable by the QR code. The chosen locations are also accessible for people with disabilities thanks to the JST Mountain Drive wheelchair, available at the West Entrance.

The circular route takes you to the open-air museum's western section, through the regions of Jura, the Central Plateau and the Bernese Plateau. You start at the West Entrance. The menu then takes you from station to station, guides you through the woodland, past the apiary and through the medicinal herb garden. Admire old farmhouses from all over Switzerland along the way. The path ends near the West Entrance, next to the house from Ostermundigen, where you will find a selection of home-made goodies from Ballenberg.

Safety guidelines

At the West Entrance, two JST Mountain Drive electric wheelchairs are available for people with disabilities. These are easy to operate and navigate steep, bumpy sections of path with ease.
