Switzerland’s largest area of moorland links together the communes of Habkern and Sörenberg. One of the most charming of these areas of rich natural beauty is the Schwarzbach-Möser nature reserve.

The unique idyll at the foot of the “Hohgant” can be reached on an easy circular hike starting from Lombachalp. The practical, flat trail runs across “Färrich” straight to the nature reserve of “Schwarzbach-Möser”. After the picnic area on the moor, the rest of the hike follows a natural trail. From the big barbecue station, you can sit back and enjoy the wonderful view over the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. A wide gravelled alpine track runs through meadows and copses of trees, ascending gently to the “Widegg”. You then continue along a narrow path along the eastern flank of the “Bolberg” to the Lägern. A series of charming cattle trails takes you back to Lombachalp.

Kulturlandschaftspreis 2012

Every year, the “Kulturlandschaftspreis” (Cultivated Landscape Prize) is awarded to the most beautiful, and most valuable, areas of cultivated landscape in the eastern Bernese Oberland. By supporting and boosting the area’s image through tourism, the award incentivises farmers to manage their land sustainably and help preserve our beautiful natural environment.
