Those who start the hiking day early in the morning can climb in the shade up to Sätteli, the highlight of this day. This ascent is surprisingly gentle. The descent on the south side is all the steeper. No wonder, the breathtaking walls of the Gadmerflühe with the climbing walls of Tälli- and Wendenstock, Pfaffenhut, Reissend Nollen, etc. are on the south side. You almost get a stiff neck looking up – which you have to do again and again, such is the impressive scenery. Then the beautifully situated Tällihütte with its large terrace is reached. A long break is highly recommended here before descending further to the valley floor towards the Sustenpass road. A cable car from the valley leads in five minutes to the well-frequented mountain guesthouse. It is also the starting point for the first tourist via ferrata in the Swiss Alps, the Tälli via ferrata built in 1993.
