- travelblogannaAugust 23, 2024 at 1:48 PMfresh fish from their own lakeA piece of wilderness in the Berner Oberland, the lake Forellensee based in Zweisimmen. We visited this beautiful lake for dinner. The lake restaurant offers fresh fish from their own lake. Of course, there are also other dishes for those who don’t like fish. A delicious evening meal in good company, enjoying the please and the elements in nature.More
- Safari56695432798September 8, 2023 at 4:59 AMAmazingMy second experience of fish, specifically the salmon fillet, is delicious and the place is wonderful. The staff is nice and elegant. Thank you to the staff and the ownerMore
- G9453YNdavidmJuly 16, 2023 at 10:35 PMTrust in TroutNever would have expected something like this right off of the main road. Didn't catch the trout myself, but could have. It tasted great, and the presentation of all dishes was excellent. Perfect service. Worth a stop if you want really fresh trout: Blue or Meuniere.More
- B_ZoupeAugust 3, 2020 at 11:57 AMHigh quality fish at friendly atmosphereThe fish is freshly caught at their own pond, giving a very connaiseur vibe to their dishes. The picture menu has a cheapish vibe. Great selection of wine and desserts. A bit pricey for the food you get, but nonetheless a very pleasant dinner.More
- RedPaddy63July 16, 2020 at 4:34 PMUnexpected delightSituated not far off a main road, you'd be surprised how peaceful it is sitting on the terrace, overlooking the small lake. Friendly service, and good food - trout, of course. Very pleasant evening.More
- yuchungfokAugust 6, 2019 at 5:13 PMCasual relaxing restaurant by small lakeTrout is obviously their specialty, and the pink salmon tout filet was very good. My wife had a Egli fish dish, which was also very good. Meat dishes are available. There is an outside terrace facing the lake that is very pleasant to dine there on a nice day, which was what we did.More
- Voyage554965May 21, 2019 at 3:36 PMFantastic restaurant, staff and ownerWe arrived a bit too late and the owner of the restaurant kindly offered to drive us to the train station so that we didn’t have to eat in a hurry. The food is delicate and delicious. The staff is very friendly and polite. Most importantly, the furniture and the view are awesome. Definitely need to stop by and enjoy!
- MichaelG459April 16, 2019 at 9:53 AMGreat location, great food, nice peopleWe had planned a trip with the GoldenPass train from Montreux to Zweisimmen as a special family occasion. The first time, mid-March we had to cancel due to weather conditions. It was not problem with the restaurant at all to rearrange for another date. The place itself had attracted my attention when I was looking for a nice and cozy restaurant to eat. And, when we arrived walking from the station, alongside the river of Simmen, over the Camping place, passed the wonderful lake with extremely clear water and the trouts swimming in it, it clearly proved already here to have been the right choice. Arriving at the restaurant we had a wonderful table, and the waiter, Christoph, was very nice. The restaurant has, especially also for the summer, some very nice corners to enjoy a drink, something to eat or simply relax. Apart from some starters, a green salad and a hot pancake soup – both as such nothing special – we all had fish – trout naturally. The fish was fresh and very good – definitely worth going there just for this. The restaurant offers also other dishes, like a bucket of fried chicken or crayfish – latter one though, unfortunately, you have to order in advance. The place can also organize some nice festivities for bigger groups, like company events, weddings and more and they have some nice cabins, a houseboat and a small “villa” right at the lake which you can book to sleep. It really does look very nice and we will try this out over a prolonged weekend.More
- danielgH717POAugust 27, 2018 at 3:14 PMGreat find for delicios food! This restaurant is little hidden but easy accessable. The where in a TV show because of there excellent trouth as lunch or dinner direct from there pond with farm raised troughs. It's not getting fresher than that. Service is excellent and so is the food. Everything is prepped with love and a nice touch. You can even fish your own trout and then have it cleaned by the chef for your dinner. Rods and help from staff direct on site, and if the evening gets late there are cozy bungalow available to stay in, ideal for kids also with guarantee of a fresh catch. Overall a great experience and highly recommend!More
- NavSataraJune 11, 2018 at 6:03 AMExcellent Fish, Great service and ambiance, slightly questionable bill and irritating fliesWe went there based on the reviews by Tripadvisior and were certainly pleased with our overall experience. All the fish were fresh, yummy and nicely presented. The salads were tasty. The restaurant setting was quite cute on the edge of a tiny lake. Our server Tommy was extremely nice, cheerful and helpful. The flies were in abundance and were very irritating but I guess there was very little the restaurant could do about it. It seemed that the other customers who were probably locals were used to them and were not overly bothered by them. The reason I took away one star was because they charged us extra on a few things .. the fries came with a couple of dishes as sides but they still charged us $9 and $6 for 2 portions. They charged us $6 for a side salad which again was supposed to be a side dish. They charged us a bit extra for drinks and then charged us $4 each for 4 glasses of hot tap water at the end of our dinner. We were also charged for drinking tap water which came in the beginning of our dinner. In most of the restaurants in Switzerland they don’t charge you for tap water as long as you are ordering regular drinks. A bill which should have been around Fr 630 came to Fr 682. I questioned the server but did not get a satisfactory reply so I paid the 682 Fr as I did not want to spoil our otherwise wonderful dinner evening. All in all a good restaurant.More

- Chi-Girl999August 16, 2017 at 10:44 PMWine by the pond - dazzlingThis is a peaceful, quaint, and beautiful oasis for an indoor or outdoor gathering. 3 of us went here after a long, long, amazing hike to Seebergsee (which I'll review later) just to have a glass of wine. The waitresses all were so nice and endearing. The wine arrived in a type of thick plastic clear bag filled with icey water. The white wine was amazing. I can't remember the name but there was a large "T" like corkscrew on the label and it was called "petite" something. DELICIOUS. So we were outdoors in a cozy place with the view of a small bridge and a pond. I felt like we were dropped into a movie set. Perfect. And the prices seemed very good $30 for half bottle. BRING CASH - they don't accept credit cards.More
