Hotel Restaurant Gloria, Beatenberg

Not an exaggeration when I say this one one of the best meals I have ever experienced. The appetizers, meals, wine, and view were all perfect. There were 5 of us and we each shared with one another and every dish was amazing. The green curry, the steak, the salmon, all of it. Next time we’re in Europe we’ll make a special trip back to enjoy the hospitality of Mrs. Jackie Daniel’s , her wonderfully talented husband/head chef, and all of the wonderful staff at Gloria that gave us the highlight of our trip to the Alps.

Delicious local food and wine, Jackie and her husband were superb hosts and the view is hard to beat. We had the fondue and my children enjoyed pasta and sausage & chips. This wine was from a local vineyard and paired perfectly with the fondue. This made our last night in Switzerland one to remember, thank you! If you want to enjoy true Swiss food with an incredible view venture up the mountain to this hidden gem!

My friend and I had dinner at the Hotel Gloria restaurant for two nights in a row because we so thoroughly enjoyed the first night. The food was superb and all the staff and owner were a delight! An all round lovely experience! Definitely worth a visit and on the list for next time.

We’ve had a special greetings and warm welcome by the owner, Jacky, was very special. Thank you. We ordered one main each, and a Christmas dessert for my wife. Bratwurst and pork medallion were both superb. Dessert was traditional English pudding, which was a bit too sweet but paired with vanilla sauce, so good.

We were very happy to go back to the restaurant of the Gloria hotel. It has been around 10 years since we visited. The food is still very good, but there were some things we didn‘t like this time. We had to ask for a pepper mill and for bread. On top, the outdoor seating area is in need of a renovation.

Stayed one night at a nearby hotel in Beatenberg. Trying to dine in a restaurant outside the hotel, we have located this small but amazing restaurant thanks to the help of Trip Advisor. The food was kind of fusion but quality was far beyond our expectation. We sat outside and though a bit chilling, but the stunning view of the Thun lake and surrounding mountains made it a perfect moment!

Want a bed and breakfast vibes without the nostalgic feeling of being in someone’s home?! This hotel is the BEST hotel I have ever stayed in! And I truly mean the BEST! It is like home but with WAY better views (truly incredible), great wine and a restaurant with phenomenal FOOD all homemade!! (Like how is this place real?!) The people who work here are wonderful. The beds are comfy. The town is adorable. And my only complaint is we didn’t book longer! We came with our 2 year old all the way from Washington DC and CANNOT WAIT TO RECOMMEND IT TO ALL OF OUR FRIENDS! (And yes we will be back.) Even our toddler loved it and guys they had a room filled with toys... Such a game changer and she played hour in here while we drank your delicious wine on the balcony! Thank you Hotel Gloria for the sweetest and greatest experience we could ask for while in Switzerland! We cannot wait to come back! You made us feel like family from check in to check out and we are so grateful. Thank you for loving us and caring about our experience for every aspect. Your staff is outstanding and the little touches you add our accounted for and so are heartwarming. We love you!

I had just arrived in Switzerland after a 2 year absence and was excited for my favorite Swiss dish! Berner Rosti. I was very disappointed when it arrived and was so salty it was really not edible. I tasted each part separate and discovered the ham was so very salty. Even my husband tried it and he usually likes saltier foods then I do and he couldn’t take a 2nd bite. I did inform the waitress and was just told she’d inform the kitchen. Absolutely beautiful ambiance and views. My husband had schnitzel and fries and nothing special there, for Switzerland. We are staying in this area for several weeks but probably will not return.

Owner them self they make shuer you are enjoying food and comfortable . Very beautiful interior and surrounding. Awesome service and very friendly people.delicious food. We will visit again.

for the restaurant , a very bad memory...15.9.18 I usually dont write but these one is important to me. we were 12 people so we ordered and reserved aplace in advance. we orderderd 2 fondu for 5 and the rest were 3 children pasta with plain tomato sauce and 3 main course for the rest. a 2 soup and asalad. it took them 1.5 hrs!! to take the reservation and bring the food... there were only 5 mains and 3 pastas! the children were very hungry and so we asked tham to bring it sooner , but was too hard for tham. in adition they have charged for the 9 yr old a full price even thaugh we ordered a kids menu! To top all that , the fondu was not good at all , as it can be ... i think there is no excuse for that kind of service . But to hear from the owner that it is because we are too many people was just too much! we ordered in advance , you should know it , don't you ? so do not go there if you want a nice evening and nice food . spend your money someplace else.

Wow! Where to start.. we came here during our trip to Beatenberg on a sunday evening as it was only across the road from where we were staying so we decided to book in for dinner (we went during the day for a drink and the view was spectacular) we asked if we could have a seat outside on the terrace and the lady said this would be fine and booked us in. When we arrived the sun was still shining and the views were just spectacular! You cannot find a better view for dinner! I have to say our waiter, who’s name I wish I had got now was amazing! His service was impeccable from start to finish and nothing was too much trouble for him! He is a credit to Hotel Gloria! We ordered a starter each, a main course and shared a pudding alongside two bottles of wine! The food was just beautiful, although pricey but expected (150 in total with drinks) I think the views are worth the costs you pay for the food. The vegetable soup for start was so fresh and tasty and perfect to warm us up when the sun went down. The main courses were just as delicious! The owners were friendly and chatty and made time to come and check everything was ok - which made it more special and personal! They had blankets outside for those who wanted to enjoy the views all evening - despite it being a little cold! We will never forget this place and will definitely return if ever we return to Beatenberg! Thank you again for such a great experience!

This is no ordinary hotel restaurant, the food was excellent and the staff were great. My parents and I shared fondue and a bottle of wine and were very pleased. The staff were very attentive and accommodating. The view over looking the lake was splendid. I look forward to returning one day.

We ate dinner here twice while staying at the hotel. Both dinners were great, nice fresh ingredients & made to order. The service was also very good . You will never get a better view.
