Frequently asked questions

What is the guest card and who is entitled to it?

All guests staying for a minimum of one night in Interlaken, Matten, Unterseen, Wilderswil, Saxeten, Gsteigwiler, Bönigen, Iseltwald, Ringgenberg, Goldswil and Niederried pay a so-called visitor's tax. The tax is used by Interlaken Tourism to promote and create tourist offers. In return, you receive a guest card from your accommodation provider, with which you benefit from many advantages. The guest card also entitles you to free travel on public transport within the Libero local zone 750 including the route Iseltwald, Saxeten, Niederried and as far as Beatenbucht.

Where do I get the guest card?
  • On arrival, you will receive your guest card directly from your accommodation provider
  • Before your arrival, your details will be registered by you, or your accommodation provider and you can activate your Interlaken Pass before your arrival
  • If this is not the case, first contact your accommodation provider directly. Otherwise, you can contact our guest information: [email protected], +41 (0)33 826 53 00
What is the difference between the Interlaken Pass and the analogue guest card?

The Interlaken Pass is activated online. After activating, it can be accessed in the user account on the smartphone. It is also possible to download the Interlaken Pass as a PDF and save it on the smartphone, or to print it out. The Interlaken Pass works with a QR code and is personalised.

What happens if I don't want a Interlaken Pass?

The analogue/physical guest card can still be obtained from the accommodation provider.

What are the advantages of the Interlaken Pass?

In addition to the basic offers, there are exclusive and time-limited offers that are activated in the user account. The overview shows all offers, providers and conditions. These exclusive offers and benefits are only available with the Interlaken Pass.

Do I already have access to the Interlaken Pass before my arrival?

If the contact details and dates of your stay are already collected by you or your accommodation provider before arrival, you can activate the Interlaken Pass with a link sent to you and already have access to the user account before arrival. However, the offers can only be booked during the period of your stay, and it is not possible to benefit from the services before arrival or after departure.

How do the service provider such as railways, adventure providers etc. see whether I am entitled to a discount?

The service provider can scan the QR code to check the validity.

I have not received a booking confirmation when I booked an item in my user account, where can I find the tickets?

In your user account you will find an overview of all booked services under "My orders". When the field "Download voucher" is clicked, a PDF ticket with a QR code is automatically downloaded.

Can my dog travel free of charge?

Dogs travel free of charge on Jungfrau Railway lines (excl. Jungfraujoch). On public transport, a purchase of a half-fare card for your dog is required. Before your arrival, you should clarify with your host whether dogs are allowed in the accommodation.
