Öland. With its unique landscape, countless historic windmills, endless beaches, two striking lighthouses in the north and south and the diversity of flora and fauna, Öland offers an endless wealth of motifs.
That's why eight of the ten members of the elf.22 photography group set off in August 2024 to explore the island together for a week and capture their views of the landscape, places, people and animals.
Our photo book "Öland anders" (Öland differently) harmoniously combines the unifying and the individual in equal measure. The mills act as a unifying element and are a recurring motif. In addition, the photographers made their own personal selection for the photo book and this exhibition in order to depict what makes Öland special from their own perspective and consciously deviate from the usual clichés of vacation island images.
