Meielisalp – peace, tranquillity and dreamlike views

Savour the most beautiful sunsets over Lake Thun

The stunning Meielisalp is situated just above Leissigen. Against a picturesque natural backdrop, you will enjoy majestically panoramic views of Lake Thun and the imposing Bernese Alps – the perfect place to spend time unwinding. Treat yourself to a spontaneous break from the everyday routine, or relax after an eventful day amid natural surroundings.

Picture-perfect moments in a natural paradise with panoramic views

The Meielisalp is situated above the charming village of Leissigen. Nestling in a postcard landscape, this beautiful spot promises peerless views of deep blue Lake Thun. Here you can leave your cares behind and forget the usual hustle and bustle: simply arrive, breathe deeply and unwind. Depending on the season, you can follow hiking trails through green or golden yellow meadows and delightful forests. At various points there are welcoming resting places and barbecue facilities to use. Throughout your day, you will enjoy impressive views of the mountains: admire the pyramid-like Niesen and the surrounding peaks. You can reach the Meielisalp by car from Leissigen, or walk a panorama trail from Aeschi. One highlight of the route is the 140-m suspension bridge over the River Spissibach: enjoy a thrilling experience some 60 m above ground. After crossing the bridge, the route is flat as far as the nearby Meielisalp.

Enjoy relaxation above Lake Thun

Amid this natural paradise, you will find a charming hotel with a welcoming atmosphere and a sun-drenched terrace commanding superbly panoramic views. Attractive events and themed weeks aimed at families, hikers and nature lovers are arranged on a regular basis. Thanks its seminar facilities and the wide range of courses it runs, the hotel is a popular choice for retreats, seminars and (family) groups of holidaymakers. Situated beneath the Meielisalp, the Bed & Breakfast Finel is just a short walk away. At the rustic and welcoming tavern with sun terrace, you can completely relax over coffee and cakes. Provided you reserve early, you can even stay over in a cosy guesthouse (and sleep on a straw mattress if you wish). Enjoy happy times in an oasis of calm and watch entranced as the sun slips below the horizon each evening. By day, you can choose from numerous excursions in the area. Options include a nostalgic train ride on the Niesen or a memorable hike on the Morgenberghorn.

Experience a place of inspiration
