Great destination for the entire family
This is a fun experience for the entire family. Easy to ride up. Great scenery at the top. Kids will love the playground. This is a great way to gain elevation easily for hikes on the northface trail or the mountainview trail. The blumen trail was not much as it was too late last week for wildflowers.

Stunner and beautiful day for a spritz and the park
Allmendhubel was one of the most magical stops on our trip to Mürren! The combination of breathtaking mountain views, a fantastic outdoor playground, and a relaxing restaurant terrace made it an absolute highlight. If you’re visiting the Jungfrau region, this spot should be at the top of your list! The Experience: From Mürren, you can take the short funicular ride up to Allmendhubel (we hiked) and within minutes, we were greeted with the most spectacular panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. The air was crisp, the sun was shining, and we couldn’t have asked for a better setting to unwind. Perfect for Families & Relaxation: One of the best surprises was the Flower Park, an adventure-style playground that blends beautifully into the landscape. It was a dream for our kids—they spent hours climbing, sliding, and playing while we enjoyed the peaceful scenery from the terrace. This spot is a must for families traveling with children! Food & Drinks: We grabbed a table on the restaurant’s outdoor terrace, where I enjoyed a refreshing Aperol Spritz under the warm sun. The atmosphere was perfect—relaxed, scenic, and with excellent service. The menu offers Swiss specialties, and the pricing felt reasonable given the unbeatable location. Helpful Tips: • Best Time to Visit: On a clear day, the views are unbeatable. Arriving in the morning ensures you get a great seat on the terrace. • For Families: The playground alone is worth the trip! It’s a safe and fun space for kids to explore while parents take in the scenery. • Hiking Opportunities: Allmendhubel is also a great starting point for scenic hikes, whether you’re looking for an easy stroll or something more adventurous. Final Thoughts: Allmendhubel is a perfect mix of relaxation, adventure, and jaw-dropping beauty. Whether you’re here for a casual drink, a family outing, or a base for hiking, it offers something for everyone. We absolutely loved it and would return in a heartbeat! Highly recommend

Worth the time and expense for excellent hikes
This is a great activity because the lift can take you to an amazing hike - North Face trail. It is stunning and so enjoyable. The views are other worldly. Take the lift up and start the hike near the playground.

    Perfection
We came here on our first full day in Switzerland and it was one of my holiday highlights. I came here with my husband and our 6 year old and 2 year old and we had a fantastic time. Seeing my boys play happily on the playground on a hot sunny day with the occasional icy breeze coming off the snowy mountains that surrounded us was a moment I hope I never forget. The playground was absolutely brilliant (the water maze was genius!) and our boys spent hours playing (we had to drag them away!). There is a restaurant there, but we took a picnic. The views along the way are spectacular too. You won't regret coming here. Afterwards we spent a couple of hours exploring the lovely Lauterbrunnen and allowed the kids to play on yet another playground while we admired the waterfalls in the background from a distance.

Possibly the prettiest town with a lovely play area for kids
Mürren was almost as good as Wengen as far as the scenic nature was considered. And then, Allmendhubel was the cherry on top. The funicular was so exciting for the kids, but once they reached the top, the playground just took their breath away. Kids can play around there for hours, while parents can have a drink and enjoy their food at the attached restaurant. This is a large playground with so many different games for all age groups. The food is decent and the ice creams are fun!

    Hiking at Allmendhubel
We did an amazing hike from Allmendhubel to Grutzalp. Allmendhubel has a wonderful short hike with gorgeous views and flowers native to the area. It is also a fun ride up in the funicular. There is a restaurant and wonderful children’s playground.

    Beautiful Murren Mountain
Beautiful views easily accessible from Murren. While staying in Murren for a few days we decided to take the affordable trip up (14 Swiss Frank per person/round trip) to the top and enjoy the views. It was a short trip to the top and we were greeted with a wonderful playground for children, a restaurant, walking trials and lots of spaces to sit and enjoy the view. I recommend you bring a snack or picnic, as it’s a great spot to sit, relax and soak it all in. You can also walk back down to Murren, rather than taking the lift.

pro con advice- my experience of this place with unvelievable panoramic scenic classic iconic snow capped mountain views
PROS * Outstanding views of the stunningmountain scenery * Fun and special playground * Fantastic and unique and varied Alpine flower garden * Starting/ending point for incredible hikes * Ride the fun fun icular from Mürren, and that’s included in the Regional Pass- Berner Oberland. CONS The only way to get there is by fun icular every 15 minutes, or by hiking “I VISITED THIS PLACE”… … because it provides fantastic incredible unbelievable scenic panoramic snow capped mountain vista views. But because it was a cold rainy misty foggy summer day, the views were severely limited and I didn't want to hike in that weather condition, despite the 30 year old who was eager and willing to plow through and do it. The place is quite nice- place to eat and rest and enjoy the unbelievable views. You can also see the Alpine Flower Garden. Please enjoy my “helpful” attached photos WAS IT WORTH THE COST? It is covered by the Berner Oberland Regional Pass WOULD "I VISIT THIS PLACE" AGAIN? Sure, and I intend to, because the last four times that I've been to Murren, it's been foggy and misty and rainy, and I've been unable to see the views and to do the hiking. ADVICE Do not miss coming here for the view, the playground, the restaurant, the Alpine garden and the hiking.

Great views and walks along the flower meadows.
Took the Allmendhubelbahn Funicular from Murren then walked back down the flower trail which takes you through what can only be described as scenery straight from Heidi😀 If you're not a serious hiker and just want an hours walk and fresh air this will do you. It's beautiful. The Funicular runs every 15mins. We then walked back from Murren to Lauterbrunnen which took another 90mins and the views of the Jungfrau opposite were stunning. The paths are easy to navigate and we passed a wheelchair user who seemed to be having no difficulty. There are benches dotted along the way too. For serious hikers there are lots of trails up higher into the mountains.

    Hiking playground. Literally.
There is a great playground at the top. A restaurant with a view. A lounging area on top of the hill with amazing views. And the starting point to tons of hikes.

    Fantastic place with fantastic views
PROS * Fantastic mountain scenery seems close * Fantastic playground * Fantastic Alpine flower garden * Simple adequate restaurant and facilities * Starting/ending point for incredible hikes * Easily accessible via the fun icular from the Moshe of Mürren, and that’s included in the Regional Pass- Berner Oberland. CONS It does take some time and effort to get there, regardless of the method “I VISITED THIS PLACE”… … because it is the perfect midway halfway point between two fantastic Incredible unbelievably scenic hikes above Mürren. I ascended for at least half of the Mountain View Trail from Grutschalp but backed out because of rain, dense fog and wet ground (and solitude on the trail). The plan was to then leave Allmendhubel via the Northface/Blumenthal Trail/ that didn’t happen. I descended to Winteregg and walked to Mürren and then went directly to the fun icular, which was…. fun. The place is quite nice- place to eat and rest and enjoy the unbelievable views. You can also see the Alpine Flower Garden. Please enjoy my “helpful” attached photos and if interested, you can see my previous review from August 2014. ADVICES If you are in Mürren, then you must do this.

Take flower trail back to murren
The park is very good to engage kids for 2 hours easily, the restaurant nearby is also good to relax while kids are playing. The flower trail back to Murren is the most rewarding experience

    Such fun!
There are so many places you can get to in Switzerland on trains, gondolas, etc. This little funicular takes you to a beautiful playground with a view of Murren and surroundings. Be aware that the last one goes down at 5 pm!

    Lunch at the top.
The short ride to the top exposes all the local beauty of green hills and forest. At the top is a kiddie park and spectacular scenery.

    Great location & playground!
We LOVED the playground at Allmendhubel - one of our favorites in all of Switzerland. The cheese-making play area was so well-done, and the underground tunnels were a hit with our 7-year old. We (adults) had beers on the patio while she played - but we loved it so much we also played with her on the park! The server at the restaurant was quite rude, we would not recommend the restaurant based on our experience - but it is the only option available at this location. Also suggest walking back down to Murren after your visit - a great, short hike with beautiful views - but very downhill, bring trekking poles and good shoes or you may have sore knees!

    A place to play
Very scenic and restful. A nice place to simply sit and enjoy the kids having a great time in the playground. It is also a nice leisurely walk back to Mürren although there are some steep parts. The ride up is a thrill for the kids.

    For kids - huge playground!
View was amazing as usual. For adults, not much to do here than just a starting point for some hikes. For kids, a very big palyground for them! They will for sure enjoy here.

    Fantastic Sledding Experience
Took the gondolas up to Mürren to get to experience sledding down the “Bob Run”. Rented sleds in the town and then took the train up to the top of the run for a great sledding experience down the famous Bob Run. An approximately 3 km run that you can sled down. Great fun for the whole family a must do while in Mürren.

A great ride up, then a casual hike down!
This is a very nice rail up the hill. There are GREAT views from the top as well. The top of the ride has a restaurant, though it was closed when we were there. They also have a kids playground. The views from the top are amazing! If you're lucky enough to ride up on a clear day, bring your camera! We rode up and hiked down. We are not experienced hikers by any means, but it was a pretty casual 60 minute stroll down for us. There are quite a few trails you can take from here. The trail we wasn't very busy and the views were amazing all the way down. A little pricey for the ride, but take the one way and a casual stroll and you'll love it!
