Built in 1863, the pump room is situated on the edge of the “Kleine Rugen” forest, only a few minutes from Interlaken. In its early days, the impressive hall was used to administer whey and mineral water cures, which were reputed to be beneficial for various physical ailments. Many famous personalities took advantage of the health treatments, lodging at the nearby Kurhaus on the northern foothills of the "Kleine Rugen" forest. An easy, circular path takes you around the “Kleine Rugen”. Take a stroll along the circular path to the Trinkhalle and enjoy an unobstructed view of the impressive Jungfrau massif. You can also reach the building from the southern side of the “Kleine Rugen”. Parking is available at the Rugenbräu brewery, which is only a few minutes’ walk away.
