The section Brienz - Interlaken is part of the Berner Oberländer Trail, which will take us from Brünig to Amsoldingen. The route can be followed on both shores of Lake Brienz. Here, the path via Oberried and Niederried is described. We are on the Swiss Way of St. James.

Today's stage will take us over a distance of 18.6 km with a walking time of around 6.0 hours from Brienz to Interlaken. It is a medium day stage. We start the hike along the lake promenade heading west, cross the cantonal road and the railway line, and reach the Mülibach. We follow the signposted paths until we arrive in Oberried after about 7.0 km. The path today leads us over asphalt and natural trails. Shortly before Niederried, we reach the highest point of the stage at 760 m altitude. The path then continues through Ringgenberg and Goldswil and we arrive in Interlaken.

Today we pass the following sights: Brienz village church, Ebligen suspension bridge, Ringgenberg castle ruins, Goldswil church ruins

It is possible to walk this stage via Iseltwald and Bönigen (variant B).
