You don't necessarily have to climb to great heights to enjoy picturesque views of the mountain world. On the high trail, which leads north of the village center of Adelboden to Schärmtanne, you get the impression of viewing the valleys of the Engstlige and Allenbach almost from a bird's-eye perspective. At the beginning of the route, 1.5 km on hard surface, and at the end another 0.9 km.

Steep and sweat-inducing is the ascent from the village center of Adelboden past the Parkhotel Bellevue and through the protective forest above the village. With almost every meter of elevation gained, the view of the wide valley floor becomes more comprehensive, which is closed off in the background by the mighty basin of the Engstligenalp. The switchbacks end at Uelisgraben, and the climb becomes gentler towards Flueweid. The perspective widens again: almost like from a bird's-eye view, you overlook the clearly recognizable scattered settlement of the Stigelschwand district. It lies in the Allebach valley, which is dominated by the broad flanks of the Albristhorn. Initially descending gently by Wannegg, then on an almost level path, you pass on a narrow path through fragrant flower meadows towards the valley interior – a hiking pleasure par excellence. At Stigelbach-Graben, the path follows the forest edge down to Schärmtanne (the eponymous restaurant is on the opposite side of the forest strip), then descends to the Allebach, alongside which a wide gravel path runs on the right bank. This path leads via Rehärti to Steinige Brügg and from there back to the village center of Adelboden.
