Learn all about wine production in the Spiez vineyard! On a themed route with 12 information panels, you are guided through the vintner's year and enjoy the breathtaking view of Lake Thun.

The Spiez Vineyard Adventure Trail is a themed hike revolving around the creation of Spiez wine. On 12 panels, you are introduced to the world of vines and good wine. Short films illustrate the work in the vineyard. You can access these with your smartphone via QR code. Another highlight of the circular route is the breathtaking view of Lake Thun, the castle, and the Alps. Benches along the entire path invite you to pause, picnic, and enjoy. The hike lasts 1–2 hours, depending on how much time you take at each themed panel.

By the way: The Spiez Vineyard Adventure Trail can also be tackled with your phone! You will be guided from one location to the next and can watch the short films about the vineyard.

Directions

The hike begins at the Lower Räbhüsli in the Spiez vineyard. Then you are guided across the Spiez vineyard. It is best to take a flyer at the Räbhüsli.

How to reach the Lower Räbhüsli: From the train station, walk along Seestrasse towards Spiez castle. Just before the winegrowers' cooperative (on Schlossstrasse), turn left into Rebbergweg. The Lower Räbhüsli is located at the beginning of the vineyard on the left side.

Equipment

The paths in the Spiez vineyard are partly steep and uneven. Therefore, good footwear is recommended.

Directions & Parking facilities

The A6 motorway exits at junction 19, Spiez. Drive towards Spiez. After the railway underpass at the roundabout, take the first exit and follow Thunstrasse. At the fork, go straight on, and at the Kronenplatz roundabout, take the third exit (Seestrasse).
Parking is available either along Seestrasse, in the Bucht parking lot, or at Spiez castle. Due to limited capacity, travel by public transport is recommended during the high season.
From Spiez train station, you stroll 15 minutes through the Spiez town center to the starting point of the adventure trail. Follow Seestrasse towards Spiez castle. Just before the winegrowers' cooperative, on Schlossstrasse, turn left onto Rebbergweg. The Lower Räbhüsli is located at the beginning of the vineyard on the left side.
