Sustenpass via ferrata - Tierbergli

This easy via ferrata is ideal for beginners and as a preparatory route for the Tälli via ferrata on the opposite valley side. At the Umpol parking lot above the Steingletscher hotel, the mountain hiking trail towards Tierbergli begins. Further up, a via ferrata leads through a varied landscape of rock and flora up to the rock ledge that towers over the whole valley and on which the Tierbergli hut stands. The panoramic view has an alpine atmosphere: southwards the Steingletscher, to the left the magnificent Sustenhorn, to the right the Vorder Tierberg and Giglistock, and to the north the Gadmental, bordered by the impressive rock faces of the Wendenstöcke. The descent via the mountain hiking trail takes about 1.5 hours.
