Culture, nature, city life: The lively, if not to say spirited, Thun, often called the gateway to the Bernese Oberland, can be considered exemplary when it comes to the combination of mountain and lake landscapes and the connection of historic and contemporary buildings. Cafés and restaurants adorn the Aare riverbank with its many cozy corners; picturesque alleys with boutiques invite you to stroll and shop. In a very small area, a fantastic abundance of offerings can be discovered. On a city tour, also guided, you gain insights into the history of the city and the castle on its sturdy hill. Museums and very well-preserved houses transport you to past centuries. A walk by the lake or in Schadau Park is relaxing, as is, of course, a boat trip on the lake. Thun is also ideal as a starting point for diverse excursions and experiences on water and land. In short: Thun is a city to fall in love with. And to stay in.
