Come and experience thrills, spills and magical moments on ice. The Holiday Region Interlaken offers many ways to discover the wonder of ice on skates. Come and skate amid a stunning winter landscape of idyllically situated natural rinksin the open air and two indoor rinks with flawless surfaces. You may wobble a bit at first, but once you find your feet you will soon be gliding elegantly and effortlessly across the ice. The invigoratingly icy air will make your cheeks burn as you make your way slowly (or quickly) around the rink. Prefer an exercise in precision? Then challenge your friends to a game of curling. Take to the ice for guaranteed great experiences.

Skate whatever the weather at the Jungfrau Ice Sports Center

Want to go ice-skating whatever the weather? From October to March, you can experience several ice sports at the Jungfrau Ice Sports Center  in Matten near Interlaken. Glide over the expansive surface of the ice rink, and perfect your graceful spins. Planning a group event or club outing? On request, the rink can be rented for friendly ice hockey tournaments. The Ice Sports Center also has four curling rinks that can be booked directly through the supplier web site.

«Glice»: artificial rink at Beatenberg

From mid-December to mid-March, the artificial rink in Beatenberg offers a great alternative to winter sports. Grab your skates and glide over the surface. The artificial ice delivers that perfect blend of grip and slide. Try it for yourself! If you need to, you can rent skates from the local sports shop. An entertainment tent opens on selected dates: come and enjoy special time with your family over warming mulled wine or punch.

Skating in Thun

Visit the two skating rinks of Thun. The Grabengut artificial rink opens from mid-September to mid-March; with two ice fields, fun and active recreation are guaranteed. The historic location of the artificial rink is unique. The attractive facility in the heart of town is situated below the magnificent Thun Castle. At the Thun Schlossberg, a special skating experience is promised. For around 50 days in December and January, visitors can skate across a 160-square-metre artificial rink set between medieval walls. There is also a welcoming lounge in which to rest and relax. Visit the «Schlossberg on Ice» to experience unique winter magic.

Natural ice rink at Brienz

In very cold winters, a beautiful ice rink is created next to the Forsthaus in Brienz. In fine weather, the rink opens from December to the end of February. Wrapped up warm, glide over the icy surface as you enjoy the view of turquoise Lake Brienz next to the rink. Fine snacks and hot drinks are served in the Forsthaus. Bavarian curling is also offered on request.

Ice skating on Lake Hinterstocken

When ice conditions are good, the Lake Hinterstocken at the "Chrindi" middle station of the Stockhorn is prepared for skating. In addition to the ice-skating rink, a second, smaller rink is also prepared for hockey fans. Do your laps on the natural ice rink and enjoy the wonderful view of the Stockhorn area. Occasionally, you can relax and recharge your batteries in the charming igloo right next to the ice rink.
