Hotel Restaurant Krone, Thun

We had a week stay in this wonderful hotel. The location of the Hotel KRONE THUN was ideal. Close to the train station and close to all the beautiful areas of Thun. Our room was one of the suites and it had a a lovely outlook into the square which was especially beautiful at night. The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was very quiet. The room and bathroom was kept spotlessly. Breakfast was plentiful All the staff at the Hotel Krone went out of their way to make our stay memorable. Thank you Hotel Krone for making our Swiss holiday special.

This place was simply amazing. The room was very clean, quiet, and private, with a lovely inner yard view. The staff were extremely polite and helpful. The renovated Rathaus adds incredible character and charm to the stay. There is a nice restaurant in the property and a bar nearby. One of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommended!

Friendly staff as soon as you walk through the door. Amazing room over looking the river. Two restaurants both excellent Chinese and Grill. Hotel in the centre two v good daily restaurants a few mins away. Everywhere spotless. Shops few mins away. Highly recommend this Hotel.

Stayed here for 3 days and would recommend to friends. The room was newly renovated, ample space and lots of extra amenities. We had the top room and received help with bringing up the luggage. Helpful staff, cordial and professional. Location is perfect.

Beautiful Hotel in the best location, close to the river, and activities and in the old town. Service was very good. Was treated to a drink at the bar across the hotel. Breakfast was ok. Continental breakfast, could not see if they did fried eggs. Honeymoon suite was wonderful and big but aircon did not work. They were kind enough to upgrade my teenage sons rom so his room could be close to us.

A very attractive hotel in a scenic and central part of the old town. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is good. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the train station and near a good number of restaurants. It has A/C, which unfortunately is now more needed than before. Thun itself has an attractive location. Choosing a hotel in the Jungfrau region involves a number of tradeoffs. Many people choose Interlaken. It’s probably got the best location and travel connections but be aware that it’s jam packed with tourists and tour groups. Grindlewald is jam packed with day trippers. If you’re going to stay in that immediate area I would say that Lauterbrunnen is more attractive and calmer. Wengen is a beautiful village but be aware that if you have luggage you’ll be hauling it over multiple connections. We’ve stayed in Thun twice and enjoy it. The downside is that you’re spending more time to get into the mountains but the upside it’s a real city with ample amenities and not overrun by hoards of tourists.

Fantastic stay, my room was either amazing or I was upgraded because I had a lounge area in a standard room! Lovely teas, coffees and fruit available all day and a very authentic Swiss breakfast - great combination of the different food regions. Only downside was noises from the river party scene, otherwise perfect.

First of all, this hotel is in the heart of the old town and very convenient to so much including the train station. We took taxi because of Our luggage but walked another time to station to go to Spiez.Our large room was at the top with dormer windows with a large bathroom. Breakfast was very nice. There was a separate room where coffee and tea were available a Long with cookies or candies and fruit. Staff was very helpful and personable. As with so many places in Switzerland, bus passes are included....we took to Interlaken. I would very much recommend staying here.
