Simply Sushi, Interlaken

I was feeling very excited to try this place, looks delicious. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to try it. Right when we walked in the waiter was unbelievably rude. We had a group of 5 & they only have 4-2 seats per table, to make sure we didn’t inconvenience him we told him we can split up and sit at different tables. He threw his hands up in the air and said “whatever”. We decided to take a seat and ask for a high chair for a younger child that was with us. He was immediately annoyed that we asked for this. His responses were so rude, it was the most uncomfy we’ve ever felt at a food place. We had to ask again for a high chair and he reluctantly went to the back. In that moment we decided it wasn’t worth eating there since we were all feeling very unwelcome so we decided to get up and start leaving, he returned and yelled “really” across the room, as we were exiting. I still feel very confused why he was so upset with us from the moment we arrived, to the moment we left. Our group is very polite, and kind, this poor treatment truly came as such a surprise and felt kind of shocking. I have never left a bad review before but this felt necessary because the treatment was so awful and uncomfy. If this is a small business, I wish them wellness & hope that they realize, whoever was serving Thursday October 23, 2025 around 12:30 should really be spoken with or just let go.

Great stop for a quick lunch. Sushi freshly made and was very good. We also had dumplings which were delicious. Very friendly staff.

Had here Lunch good Sushi, Sashimi Soups and Sake. Made by a Swiss Guy very surprised. Just one thing the rice was a bit hard. Can be improved

Wow, simply Wow!!! All the food we ordered taste very good. Although we ordered more than we usually eat, we finish what we ordered. Service was very good. Before leaving the restaurant, we even gave a thumb up sign to the chef. If there's one thing we would like to improve is the chairs and tables since it is a high chair and has no regular tables.

Was not impressed with this sushi. The rice was hard and dense as if it had been pre-made. Maybe an off day but would not return.

TOO EXPENSIVE FOR THE QUALITY ! I went here in juli 2020 with my boyfriend to have a nice evening. This day we chose not to think about money and just go for whatever we liked on the menu. But turns out the whole experience was HORRIBLE. We normally never complain about things, but so many things were wrong at this place! 1. We sat down outside and minutes later another couple came and did the same. We waited longer than them, but still got the menu after them... which we could accept. It was busy and the waitress had other tables also. 2. We ordered and waited over 45 minutes to get our sushi. While we were waiting, two other tables who came a long time after us, got their sushi before us. How is that even possible?!? 3. A woman, which we assume was the owner (because she worked in her own clothes) finally came out to us with our sushi. But still we had to wait for her to get the plates, the soya, and the small bowls for the soya. All things that should be on the table already. But again we say it’s fine, they are busy. We then ask the owner for another two glasses of Johannesburg white wine and she comes back later on with a totally different wine than what we ordered. We tried to tell her, but she wouldn’t listen saying “yes it is. In Switzerland Johannesburg is Sauvignon blanc”... we then say okay f-it! Just pour it in and let us eat, cause we are starving by this time.. she then pours way too much in my glass and not nearly enough in my boyfriends glass and with an attitude she goes “oh look, you got more” without saying anything, we look at her like “yes, but then you go and get more to even it out” She then rolls her eyes and gets us more wine and we can FINALLY start to eat. But turns out that the sushi, just like her attitude, was really bad!!! The rice (which are the main key to good sushi) was prepared horribly. The nigiri I ordered, barely had any salmon on top! And the tempura roll was rolled in some kind of all around mix!?! And on top of that we find a long dark eyelash on the roll. And these are only some things I’m pinpointing. Not to talk about the gyozas.. disgusting🤢 We ask for the bill and to speak with the manager, because we really wanted to tell her that her service and attitude wasn’t pleasant. She then chooses not to come out but instead makes her employee come back out with the bill. Believe it or not. On the bill she charged us for 4 glasses of saugvion blanc, which was more expensive Than the wine we first ordered! (SHE MADE THE MISTAKE BY POURING TOO MUCH, IT SHOULD NOT BE OUR JOB TO PAY FOR HER MISTAKE!) This is where it clicked for us! We went inside and told the chef about our experience. We then faced the manager and told her that her service and attitude wasn’t okay towards costumers who leave their money here. My boyfriend tells her about the wine and that she charged us too much on purpose and he tells her that he isn’t going to pay for her mistake! She tries to talk around it, but we are really angry and upset at this moment. She then ended up looking at us madly and saying “don’t pay at all and don’t dare ever coming back!” How can you have such a horrible attitude towards customers.. ? We tried to talk to her nicely, but she wouldn’t listen. Horrible, horrible experience.. Never going back!

Lunch specials are very much on point. Fresh atmosphere and service makes the light and tasty Sushi even nicer to enjoy. Fresh and clean..what you want.

I come all the way from UAE and I am big fan of sushi, the restaurant is basically a home for everyone, mr. Freedie and his family are the most welcoming people with their beautiful environment and food. Definitely I am coming here every time I visit Switzerland.

We had our holidays in interlaken and spent it eating in this restaurant, Freddy and his all team are simply the best ! They did special sushi for us and it was the most perfect sushi we ever had in our life! Such lovely people and such a lovely and welcoming place !!!

Sushi was very good. Udon hot soup also good. Personels were very helpful. Location is in city center very close to post office. Be careful on working hours.

Good selection of "fancy" rolls with various ingredients. Not too various, which in my opinion is a good sign in a sushi place in a land-locked country. I tried one with ebi tempura and a spicy one with scallops and avocado. Both were excellent. Delicious miso soup and very good genmaicha tea that was served in a particularly beautiful teapot. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Dogs are allowed.

Great experience, great fresh food. Small and intimate. Get what you pay for and of course in Switzerland prices are high and you don't mind paying that but more in this restaurant as food and service great.

Service is fine but the food is ridiculous. I don't think the food reach the Japanese standard, food quality so worst. Why udon with red and yellow pepper? But no Japanese fishball?!?! Udon soup not should be spicy and only have soya flavour. Anyway won't come back for sure!!! Even it's free meal I won't come!!! This isn't an real Japanese restaurant seem it's a restaurant treat foreign people Won't come back for and never and ever!!! Even they provide free meals as compensation I won't come back for 100%!!!
