Solbadhotel Sigriswil

I was there 2 days ago for a lunch on the terrace, with a beautiful view on the mountains (Niesen) and the lake of Thun. This is a high class Swiss restaurant, and as such as professional service personnel with impeccable manners and know-how. The menu / carte offers local products, that are crafted in delicious dishes. They have a Vegetarian menu option. The menu is in German but you can request the French/English version. Prices are at the level of a quality restaurant in Switzerland. I have been there multiple times in previous years and quality is always good. The owner will come by and say hello, in a very friendly way.

My husband and I are attending this hotel to use the wellness centre and have eaten at this restaurant twice thus far. The first time (Mothers Day) the restaurant was very busy and so we ordered a club sandwich. The service was great. The club sandwich was nice. The next time we were able to get seating in the restaurant and I ordered the garlic ravioli and the beloved had the veal with mushrooms. We enjoyed the meals a lot. We had a local beer with the meal. Highly recommended.

After a hiking afternoon I stopped for dinner in Sigriswil - a picturesque village boasting fantastic views over the Thunersee Lake. The restaurant is comprising of a large terrace and an impressive dining room. Lots of waiters/waitresses, therefore ensuring quick and seamless service. A special thanks goes to Nadja for her efficient and utmost friendly service. The menu is Swiss traditional with focus on local produce and suppliers. I started with the smoked trout fillet - light and tasty, served with a small salad. As main course I chose the pan-fried whitefish ("Felchen") coming from the Thunersee: generous and delicious portion, fish was perfectly prepared. I ended the meal with a seasonal dessert: Coupe Romanoff (fresh strawberries with vanilla ice cream) - truly gargantuesque portion! On the downside: 1. Most prices are fair. However the starter costs CHF21.50, which I find really expensive. CHF15-18 would have been more reasonable. 2. Despite having booked a table in advance I got seated directly at the entrance and near the kitchen. Therefore I had to endure staff and incoming guests frequently passing behind. Not really enjoyable! In high-price Switzerland the bill amounted to CHF87. Despite the small imperfections mentioned above, my overall impression remains good.

It is our third time we eat at this restaurant. To ensure that you got the best service you need to reserve a table otherwise you will not be able to eat or you will be seated somewhere between walls We had open salad buffet, potato soup , beef and chicken They cooked it Swiss style and there were very tasty . Standard never changed, good service , prompt , nice attitude Great food and views . Enjoyed our evening there

We (3 people) came back from a hike around Sigriswil and actually only wanted to have a quick beer and a coffee in the hotel restaurant. In the reception area was no space left so we went into the restaurant to ask if we can have only drinks there too. The 3 or 4 women working in the service were ignoring us completely while we were waiting to be seated in the half empty restaurant. So after we forced them to get an answer we were allowed to sit at a table at the window. The only friendly person was the waiter, he smiled, he was helpful, fast and nice. The 3 or 4 waitresses tried to dissapear and hide in the kitchen as fast and as often they could. Even when we left the restaurant the waitresses weren't able to say goodbye. Although the food looked nice, we didn't want to stay any longer.

We are regular customers of the solbad hotel and we find the food to be excellent. The staff are very friendly and some do speak English. Every evening you have a choice of three different dishes including a vegetarian option. Breakfast is a buffet with lots of breads, cheeses and cold meats, at weekends or special holidays they will put on bacon, egg, etc. Would certainly recommend.

The variety of food at breakfast was great. The dinner was a set menu to choose. it was very testy. The restaurant staff were very friendly.

When we stayed at Baren Sigriswil, they did not serve any dinner on a Monday, so we went to this restaurant and they served local Swiss dishes from fish , chicken and meet, they also served pate and other dishes which I could not understand because it was written in German, they helped us a lot to choose and we were very happy with our choices , the restaurant was busy for both days but they managed to squeeze us in a nice location. My wife and myself agreed that we will go there again for dinner .

This hotel has a swimming pool and some terrace restaurants. The rooms are spacious and well lit. The staff are friendly and the overall feeling is comfortable. All in all a nice place to stay in sigriswil.
