Skiers know Engstligenalp as a snow-secure ski area that still offers top conditions far into spring. However, snowshoeing is also possible at Engstligenalp near Adelboden. The Engstligenalp Trail provides an easy, continuously signposted route. The trail starts directly at the cable car mountain station and initially leads slightly downhill to Läger. Passing snow-covered alpine huts, the route crosses the vast plain of the Engstligenalp. In a wide arc, the route crosses the snow-covered gravel delta of the Wildstrubel. Depending on snow depth, you can orient yourself here by the Grosse Lägerstei, the largest boulder once rolled down from the Wildstrubel. The return path leads back to the snow-covered huts of Läger and returns via the outbound route to the cable car. Along the way, you also pass the two restaurants located on the route with their wonderful sun terraces.
