The sledding trail at Wiriehorn is suitable for young and old. Families tend to take it easy, while advanced sledders like to gain speed or even use the fast branch path. Once you arrive down in the valley, the chairlift is already waiting for you and a new sledding route can begin. A full round including the chairlift ride takes about 45 minutes.

Directions
At the mountain station of the chairlift at Nüegg, turn immediately right and follow the wide path to Untere Heiteren. The path here slopes gently and you have to pull your sled. But that doesn’t matter at all because you will be wonderfully warmed up for the following sledding fun. From Untere Heiteren it goes only downhill. Just always follow the sledding markings. The path continues through the wonderfully snow-covered mountain forest. About halfway there is the option to turn right and take the fast branch path for advanced sledders.
Shortly before the end of the sledding trail, you reach a populated area and cross a road that is occasionally used by cars. Before crossing, check by looking both ways that the path is really clear before continuing.
Equipment
Gloves and good shoes with tread are a must. We also recommend wearing a ski helmet.

Directions & Parking facilities
On highway A6 Bern towards Zweisimmen, turn left 1 km after the Simmenfluss tunnel towards Diemtigtal. Follow the Diemtigtal road upstream for 11 km to the Riedli valley station. From here the Wiriehorn chairlift takes you up to the mountain station Nüegg (observe operating times: www.wiriehorn.ch).
At the Riedli valley station you will find paid parking spaces
By train to Oey-Diemtigen station (Spiez-Zweisimmen line). Then by post bus to the stop «Riedli, Talstation Wiriehorn». From here the Wiriehorn chairlift takes you up to the mountain station Nüegg (observe operating times: www.wiriehorn.ch).
