From the Waldegg bus stop, the path follows a linden-lined trail that was laid out over 100 years ago by a Beatenberg hotelier for his guests. After crossing the Sundbach, the path joins a forest trail that leads high above the village through varied mountain forest. There are repeatedly gaps in the forest and an unobstructed view of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau trio of peaks.
In the early evening hours, attentive hikers may have the opportunity to observe deer and other animals on the forest-adjacent meadows. On either side of the path, animal trails can be seen. At point 1352, the hiking route turns off the gravel road onto a narrow, root-rich path that leads down through the forest to a pasture with the most beautiful view over Lake Thun and the Alpine peaks. The horn blasts of excursion boats can sometimes be heard up here. In late summer, the shadows of the setting sun form a more or less distinct Swiss cross on the white north face of the Jungfrau, which can be clearly seen from here. Further down at Rossi, there is an opportunity to buy cheese and homemade delicacies at a small farm shop by the road. The last few hundred meters lead along the village road to the PostBus station by the cable car building. If you wish, you can pick up some reading material shortly before at the public bookcase by the retirement home. To avoid disturbing wildlife unnecessarily, the hike should definitely be done before nightfall, so that no light sources are needed.
