- Start: Gstaad, Eggli mountain station
- Destination: Gstaad, Eggli mountain station
The circular hiking route can be started in both directions. However, it is recommended to go clockwise early in the morning. After a short descent to the ski lift, a longer ascent begins immediately towards Vorder Eggli. With each meter gained in elevation, the view towards Gsteig and the Sanetsch becomes more impressive. Soon the mountain station of the Saanen - Eggli chairlift is reached. Between the piste and ski lift, you now ascend to the highest point. To the west, the Gummfluh appears, to the left the snow-covered Meiel with Witteberghorn, and to the right the Videmanette ski area. After passing the lift facilities at the highest point, you reach a wonderful plateau with a magnificent view. A rest break is offered at the nearby alpine hut. This is also the turning point of the circular route.
Return is on the north side of the Eggli hill. First lightly traversing the slope, then in a sharp left turn down over snowy meadows. With a view towards Horneggli, you then comfortably walk back along the height to the Eggli mountain station. Shortly before the station, you still have to cross the wide ski slope. Afterwards, you have earned refreshment in the mountain house.
