- johnpZ4299KQSeptember 30, 2019 at 7:02 AMPanoramic viewGreat view from balcony with nice sandwiches to act as fuel before walking down the mountain.Best seats available before a new train full of passengers arrives.our choice is usually the ham and cheese and this was one of the bestMore
- ALex144422August 5, 2019 at 3:27 AMOne of the best place for seeing the beautiful lake and boundlessly mountain. This hotel is very close to train station.Good Location for seeing view around. The dinner is Good. The Restaurant staffs are nice The room is clean and unforgettable view when looking through the window. There's a ceramic basin inside the room but the bathrooms and toilets are shared room on each floor and enough for guests. The breakfast is OK.One thing,if you want to see the Sunrise at the peak, you would reserve at less 10-15 minutesfor walking before the Sunrise time.More
- mthiebeult22August 22, 2017 at 6:30 AMComfortable and clean mountain lodge4 of us stayed in a shared 8-bed dorm room which had 3 others in it, shared bathrooms were really clean. The lodging was everything you'd expect, comfortable bed with duvet and pillow, good mountain food (the Rosti and Alpermakkaroni were perfect after a long hike up!), and really friendly staff! Unfortunately we didn't have clear weather but the views are great when it is of the Alps (including Eiger, Monch, and Jungfrau mountains), even got to see some Steinbocks (Ibex).More

So amazing the camera cannot capture it. You have to see it with your own eyes. The railway line up is an incredible feat of engineering--even for the Swiss.More
- jbsansJuly 4, 2016 at 5:12 PMNot to be missed! We spent a night here and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were friendly, the rooms were clean and well heated. I was a little concerned about the shared bathroom but it all worked out fine. The bathroom and toilets were clean and there were sinks in the room. We had a spectacular view from our room and the food was great! Also loved the breakfast selection! Highly recommended!More
- juliancK7327UIOctober 7, 2014 at 1:25 PMAn experience not to be missed!Just getting to this hotel above 2,200 meters is a unique experience on the 'little red choo-choo cog train'. One hour of slow climbing through Alp landscape into rarified air and fantastic views of snow-capped mountains is truely special! Put it on your bucket list! The hotel is modest but clean, friendly and well run. No TV, radio or phone in our room, but we normally don't use them so they were not missed. Common bathroom facilities are always a bit daunting, but these were clean and well appointed. Everything, including food has to be brought up by train. But the food is surprisingly good given this fact. Not a big menu but presented with much care.More
- UrsR832September 11, 2013 at 8:03 PMLook at sunset over Eiger, Moench & JungfrauThis is one of the most beautiful settings with a fantastic view over to the Bernese Oberland with Eiger, Moench & Jungfrau. One can walk up here or take the cog railway with steam engines from Brienz. The hotel, the service and the food is excellent, especially for this type of location.More
- MonicakatharinaAugust 16, 2013 at 6:17 AMIncredible vistas, but...The ride up to the Rothorn in the little red train is absolutely amazing, and the panorama from the top is simply incredible. You can practically see across the entire country! I'm less convinced about the hotel and restaurant, though. Our room was in a side-building, and smelled really musty. If you want a towel, you have to rent it for 4 CHF. The dinner in the restaurant was ok. At breakfast, however, the fruit salad came out of a can, and the bread had been deep-frozen. There was nowhere in our room to play a game after dinner, so we asked if we could stay on in the restaurant. The answer was no, as they had to clean and then wanted to leave (it was barely 22:30). Having just come from Lake Oeschinensee where no effort is spared to make guests feel at home, the Rothorn Kulm Hotel was a big disappointment. Especially given their prices, which are high. However, if your prepared to lower your standards, I would still recommend you spend a night there (ask for a room in the main building, they're supposed to be nicer). Being perched this high on top of a mountain, seeing the sun setting and rising over the alps, with absolutely no sounds but the wind and the birds, is a very unique experience.More
- DonrodolfAugust 15, 2012 at 5:59 PMA unique experienceWe spent a weekend on the Brienzer Rothorn. The hotel is very basic but clean. Shared Showers and restrooms are located on the floor. This is typically not our style but it was all clean and absolutely ok for a night. The restaurant is very nice. Food is great, wine list as well. Breakfast is also very rich and tasty. The view from the hotel is amazing, provided that the weather is good. We saw plenty of capricorns during early evening just outside of the hotel. The railway up to Brienzer Rothorn is a unique experience. Overall, a great trip tha can be extended with some nice hikes.More
