    Lunch with breathtaking views
Step back in time when you enter the restaurant in this beautifully preserved hotel from the belle époque. You can enjoy a lunch here with a stunning view of the Giessbach waterfall followed by a coffee on the terrace with panoramic views over the Brienzersee and the mountains. The menu is rather limited, the food average and overpriced but the whole setting and the friendly service make it an unforgettable experience.

    Beautiful surroundings and nice lunch
We had lunch on the terrace on a beautiful day in September. Incredible view on the falls and the lake. Food and service were excellent. You feel you are back at the Belle Époque!

    Fantastic!
Had a fantastic dinner during our short stay. Salad was excellent and agnolotti was one of the best pasta dishes I have ever tasted. Wine list is impressive, but a bit expensive. We were celebrating and splurged on a 2015 Margaux from Giscours and we were very happy we did, it was sublime. Impeccable service from Sara was attentive and engaging. A special place with spectacular view of Giessbach waterfall.

    Not welcoming hikers or bikers
It was horrible. We were not allowed to seat where all the seats were completely empty. We were told the seats are reserved, even though some 2 hours later still nobody was sitting there. Seems like they have a Hotel-Guests-Only policy, and they do not accept hiking or biking coustomers that come from the area. We were very dissatisfied with the service and the hypocrite policy they have in place. The website does not mention that this is a Hotel-Customer-Restaurant ONLY. Try to avoid this place it’s a big tourist trap.

La Terrasse at lunch - perfection!
This was the best meal I’ve had in Switzerland. I opted for the potato gnocchi - with lightly sun-dried tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and just the right amount of greens - in a lite broth. It was perfection! With an outstanding view of the Giessbach Falls, one couldn’t ask for more. The strawberry torte was very good, but Swiss desserts (except for chocolate!) are not the best.

    Very good fare
On the contrary of the other restaurant (le Tapis Rouge which was disappointing) we liked this restaurant very much. True we dod not get a top table, but still had some view. The service was very nice and the quality of the food was excellent.

    Loved it
We stayed at the Grandhotel, Giessbach - a historical & beautiful hotel. At check-in, the lady at the lobby told us that she could offer us a special deal for a 3-course meal and wine for SFr 65 per head. We thought it was a really good deal & accepted it. It is a beautiful restaurant with a view of the Giessbach waterfall. Service is very good. Food was excellent. Wine was very good. It is absolutely worth visiting even if you are not staying at the Grandhotel, Giessbach
