Restaurant Schloss Oberhofen

Had Easter dinner tonite and Tristan was a pleasant and cheerful host. Food was delicious, presentation enticing. Arrive before 17:00 and enjoy the beautiful sunset while you take in the manificient views that the restaurant has to offer. Or spend the afternoon at Thunsee instead of over touristed Interlaken.j For visitors from Singapore and China, skip the restaurants at Interlaken and make a reservation with Tristan.

We stopped by chance in Oberhofen, not looking for anything in particular, and were absolutely pleased with the restaurant of the castle. The terrace right by the lake and within the historic site is amazing, service was efficient (and speaking French with us, thank you!), and food was very good. I would absolutely go back anytime, but I suppose that if you go on a sunny weekend or during holidays it is best to book your table in advance!

A superb location for a quite meal with breath taking views of Lake Thun.Excellent food, I do recommend the Gigantic salad with filet of Perche. The staff are very friendly and accomodating.

Just next to the beautiful castle at the shore of the lake this nice restaurant offers tasty fine food at fair prices. Service was friendly and authentic. The view is amazing. Perfect place for a peaceful dinner with your loved ones on a warm summer evening

I come from HK and I had a wonderful dinner with my girlfriend in this restaurant on 2/11/2019. The cuisine was extremely good with perfect service. The waitresses were very nice and conscientious. Although the distance maybe little bit far away from Thun centre, and it is worthy to spend a night at this restaurant and have a dinner. For public transport, it can be reached by bus 21 from Thun Bahnhof and get off Oberhofen Dorf station and just take 15 to 20 minutes.

My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant on a weekday night. It was our first time visiting Thun and my boyfriend booked a table there online. The restaurant has excellent view overlooking the Thunersee and you can see some cruise ship passed by if it’s bright enough outside. I ordered a seafood plate with freshly caught prawn from the lake, fresh clam, mussels and fish. The dish was in a huge portion and the seafood was one of the best that I tried before. The two friendly staff also provided excellent service and helped us took quite a lot of pictures. It was a memorable dinner and I hope I can visit again!

With high expectations we went for our first meal at this restaurant and chose the Candlelight dinner special. This included an apero snack, a 3 course meal together with water and coffee. The first thing that struck us was the inexperience of the service personnel, who although friendly were obviously stressed by the full restaurant. The next negative was that as the chef explained a course to the next table he got uncomfortably close to us and when he came to explain the same to us it was unfortunately also obvious that he was a heavy smoker which wasn't exactly appetising. The food quality varied from average to very good and the amounts were fair. Well I would have liked to have given 3.5 stars and a "good" as it was above "average" but quite good enough to be "very good." So would we go again? Well I guess we would, especially on a sunny summer day when the views are meant to be exceptional.

I had lunch here at an outside table by the lake on a gorgeous July Saturday. The menu was the shortest I've seen at a restaurant, but the food was delicious. The two waitresses were friendly and efficient, there were no long waits, and it was a lovely experience for this solo diner. The caveats: first, I hadn't considered this restaurant when searching on the web for a place to lunch after going through the Schloss Oberhofen because I was informed that reservations were necessary. But when I was about to leave the castle, I saw the lovely outdoor terrace next to the lake with only one table occupied, and yes, I could have lunch without a reservation. However, the restaurant is quite small, with 2 inside rooms, so on a busy day it would be wise to book a table in advance. I was told that the museum wasn't busy because everyone was outdoors enjoying the sun. Second, because the menu is so short, you may want to see what's available before you decide to eat here. There was a daily lunch special for Sfr. 19.50 consisting of soup or salad and a main course of a meat dish or vegetarian risotto with eggplant. Only 2 other options were offered, and I chose the salmon trout and a salad. The salad was the same as on the special, mixed greens topped with some eggplant slices. And my trout was accompanied by risotto and more eggplant. But despite, or perhaps because of, the limited menu, everything was carefully prepared and delicious. I appreciated that nothing was greasy, over salted, or over seasoned.

I visited this castle for a special occasion in May and the staff there were wonderful, especially Fabienne. They helped plan all the details of the visit and made it a smooth process. The castle and restaraunt itself were amazong and the view is something you cannot miss! Definitely worth a visit!

Excellent atmosphere. Could only recommend the Bier of the Month. Soup of the day also great. Very friendly staff
