Shrewd use of resources

Our professional service, friendly welcome and exceptional quality guarantees our guests an unforgettable holiday. Where appropriate and commercially viable, Interlaken Tourismus gives priority to environmentally-friendly transport options, activities and events. Shrewd use of resources and a continuous reduction in energy use are key pillars of the company’s corporate culture.

Interlaken: Energy City

In 2003, the Interlaken commune was awarded the “Energy City” label—the first commune to receive it in the Bernese Oberland. As a world-famous tourist destination, Interlaken acts as a leader in local energy policy.

The “Sustainable Tourism Guidelines” provide support for the development, implementation and marketing of sustainable tourism options. The guidelines were developed as part of an Innotour project involving Interlaken Tourismus, other Swiss destinations and the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
