    Must Visit in Beatenberg
Excellent food and service. We ordered the vegan stew, soups and raclette. All were extremely well prepared and presented.

    All was going great until..
Me & my partner dined at Hotel Dorint’s traditional restaurant twice during our fabulous visit to Switzerland in April. The first visit was great and we really enjoyed the food and service. Our second visit a few days later consisted of a three course meal each with sirloin steak as a main course. We noticed a small amount of blood on the steak even though it was medium however we thought nothing of it. Next day i got food poisoning and subsequently the day after so did my partner. Disappointing end to our holiday unfortunately. Everything else about the restaurant was nice.

Nice restaurant with a small but very tasty menu
The menu is rather special and small, but the food is very good. In the morning you find a large breakfast buffett with freshly baked omlets and eggs.

    Great food and Outstanding Manager
Had a lovely steak and my partner had a delicious burger, but unfortunately the bottle of red wine broke in the waiter's hand as he was opening it (not his fault) and went down my back. Tomas Schultz (the manager) offered incredible customer service and comped the whole meal as an apology. The food was delicious and Tomas made me and my partner very happy with his service.

    Amazing View
We were staying at Hotel Dorint for 2 nights, so we had 2 buffet breakfasts and 1 dinner at the restaurant. On the first night, we were thinking of having the Cheese fondue for dinner, but only found out we can't have it even it was on the menu, because they only serve Cheese fondue in "the Stuebli" which is the another small restaurant that share the same entrance with this restaurant... The portion of the food for dinner was quite large, it was great for 2 person to share. Food is average, I found the salad was the best, price was similar to what we have expected to have in Switzerland, but the view of the restaurant is amazing. It was like looking at a post card while eating. The Cheese fondue at "The Stuebli" was really nice, the waitress may ask you whether you want wine in the cheese fondue or not, we asked for just a bit, coz we don't want it to be too bitter and it tasted nice.

    Very good rstaurant
The breakfast is very good. The only point of note is that the restaurant can be very crowded because it is quite popular for tourists. Nothing I can complain about.

    Good complimentary breakfast
Quite a few vegetarian options for the complimentary breakfast. Fruits, cheese, bread, juices, cereals, yoghurt and coffee. Basic but filling.

    Breakfast Buffet
Though the staff is wonderful the spread of breakfast needs much to think about! Not a wholesome spread, juices are not fresh but tetra-pack, fresh juice cost 10 Swiss Francs and plus, sometimes the fresh egg chef at the counter was rude, etc etc. They need to learn from a JW Marriott hotel what a true sumptuous Breakfast Buffet should be. If its your birthday, they serve you a glass of bubbly with your breakfast....no special care or attention.

Fondue and Fun in the Swiss Alps
Our large group ate here our first night in Switzerland. To clarify, there are actually two restaurants at the hotel. One is the regular restaurant and the other is the Stubli restaurant. The Stubli restaurant serves fondue at dinner. The regular hotel restaurant does not. The cheese fondue was a big hit with our group. How can you beat eating fondue in the Swiss Alps where it originated? The cheese was creamy and perfect. We had so much fun enjoying this authentic experience that was lightyears away from what you experience at restaurants in the U.S. Other highlights of the meal included the horse steak and the St Beatus Rosti. That's right folks - I said horse. Europeans eat horse. And guess what? It is excellent. Once you get over the idea you are eating Black Beauty then you can really sink your teeth into the juicy meaty perfection and savor every bite of it. Pour some of that fondue cheese on the horse steak and you have a taste of Swiss heaven. Rosti is another Swiss specialty. It starts with a base of grated potatoes, kind of like super gourmet hash browns, then topped with all kinds of amazingness. The house specialty rosti at this restaurant is the St Beatus Rosti and it is Rösti with different kinds of sausage, paprika, mushrooms, onions, roasted slices of bacon, melted Swiss mountain cheese, and then topped off with a fried egg. So good. Every ingredient fresh and real. Amazing. When I get back to Switzerland I am going back to this town just so I can eat this meal again.

    Oh dear
Firstly.... be ready to break the bank, everything is extortionate in price! Unless your willing to declare bankruptcy e.g £150 for most sports activities and £22 for a bowl of spaghetti for dinner...then be prepared that there's nothing to do. The reception staff were unhelpful and dismissive when we tried to get help to book activities and the cleaning staff were extremely rude, especially the one with short black hair who on several occasions, barged past us on the lifts. Once you're over the views, which you can get in interlaken (which I would recommend over this), your in the middle of no where and a half hour bus ride to Interlaken that only runs once an hour. There's an indoor pool, a mini golf course that's not level (aka the ball rolls around) and that's about it. Will not be returning!!

    Good food
Try the St. Beatus Rösti - it's the best. The beef burger is also quite good. Salads... average. The service is good. Waiters are nice and friendly.

    Not really impressed.
The restaurant has a character. We've ordered the founde and it was more liquid than creamier... but tasted good. A bit overpriced (6 francs for a small coke), so we just went once. The staff was polite and helpful.

Very good buffet spread to be enjoyed by whole family. Pity that the view from restaurant is limited.
