Round trip from Interlaken over the Harder Kulm

The Harder Kulm is Interlaken's local mountain. Many paths lead up to the panoramic restaurant with the two-lake footbridge, from where you can enjoy a magnificent view of Lakes Thun and Brienz. Interlaken lies far below, and this view alone makes the hike up the Harder worthwhile. The most beautiful ascent is from Interlaken Ost, where you have one or two surprising views of the town and the lakes along the way - and, in fine weather, of the glaciated Jungfrau. Particularly worth mentioning is the Hardermatte, a rest area with barbecue facilities and benches, from where you can see across to Beatenberg, the Niederhorn and Habkern. Once at the top, it's "selfie time" on the two-lake footbridge. After that, there are plenty of options: If you want to take a few more steps, include the Harder theme trail in your descent and if you prefer a more leisurely pace, stop off at the restaurant and take the funicular back down.
