Bamboo China Restaurant, Interlaken

Food is overpriced and poorly prepared. Also well I was there I heard a distraught customer at the front counter. They had served a Muslim woman pork and did not tell her until after she found out and ate it. They were not apologetic and they were quite rude to her. I say steer clear.

We’ve been coming to Bamboo for years. It’s a straightforward Chinese eatery with plenty of seating, brisk service and food that is consistently passable. The Rindfleisch curry has always been reliable, as has the chicken fried rice. On this visit, the chicken sweet corn soup was a pleasant surprise, especially in the damp cold. The Yang Chow rice, however, was a disappointment. The location is convenient, tucked just off Interlaken’s main street and within walking distance of Interlaken Ost station. A place we’re always happy to return to.

非常好的中餐厅。 作为一个中国人，我觉得这一家竹园中国酒楼要比其他几家因特拉肯的中餐厅或者亚洲餐厅要好很多，包括菜品，口味及服务。 Very nice Chinese restaurant and as a Chinese, I think Bamboo Chinese Restaurant is much better than any other Chinese or Asian food in town (such as The Asia Restaurant or Truely Asia) in terms of both food quality, tastes and also services.

Excellent service and authentic Chinese cuisine ! The owner was so nice to waive the corkage for us. Within walking distance from the city center.

Walked I and was immediately welcomed and sat. Waiter bought a bowl of water for my dog. I was alone so only sampled one dish. It was freshly cooked, hot and very tasty. Not the best Chinese food I’ve ever had but definitely far from the worst.

Stopped here for dinner. Pretty standard stuff here. The chicken and egg fried rice was good. The lamb preparation was okay. Good service.

We arrived a little before closing and the staff was very accommodating allowing us to dine in despite our tardiness. The service was wonderful and the food was exceptional! Not sure why this restaurant isn’t ranked higher in the area! Would recommend and dine again. We had spring rolls, sweet sour pork and crispy beef in chili sauce

We arrived at Bamboo without a reservation to find it full but we're told if we returned in 30 mins they would be able to accommodate us. On our return a table was waiting and we found the service to be prompt and the food (we chose the set menus) to be of a good quality and freshly cooked. We were very pleased with our meal choices and would recommend Bamboo.

Really good food with good service. We ordered the crab soup and the hot n sour soup - really good . As mains, we ordered the chicken fried rice, pepper pork and the sichuan beef. Everything was good food in a good quantity. I recommend this place for those looking for a good value for money meal.

Run by Chinese husband and wife superb food. Fried rice and green curry we’re outstanding. We also tried corn soup was superb. Food was completely free and made in front of u. Superb food. Opens 11 am and closes 10 pm

We had the Crevette Red Curry and the Poulet Thai with basilic. Bothe were very tasty large portions. Friendly and prompt service.

First day in Interlaken and we stopped here as we were craving some different food with flavour. It wasn’t bad Chinese food but it also wasn’t the best we’ve had either. The price is high for what you get and the food was just lacking in flavour. Though this place gets busy, don’t be deceived in thinking it’s good because if you like Chinese food, you’re probably best stopping somewhere else.

The food here is catered to those who know nothing about Chinese food. The soup was watery & tasteless, consisting of swirls of scrambled egg & tomato pieces. Stir fried vegetables consisted of plain bean shoots & napa cabbage. Beef & Black Bean Sauce was pretty standard. They also served a plate of fried potato strips in vinegar!! Service was slow & inattentive. Definitely a bad showcase for Chinese food!!

It’s an average restaurant right opposite Interlaken OST. Good food, quick service and to top it all free water. But I found it to be a bit overpriced.

My husband and I were the first customers. A wonderful pleasant young man took our order. Drinks arrived and in 15 minutes the starter. Our main meal never appeared. All others who came in after us were all served promptly. No one came over to explain why the meal is delayed. We were simply ignored. I had to eventuality make an issue and request the bill for the starter so we could leave. We have had incredibly wonderful Chinese food with exceptionally good service in many Chinese restaurants. But this restaurant does not live up to any Chinese restaurant we have been to in various parts of the world. Very poor quality of food and terrible service.

My sister and i had dinner here on Tuesday 11 December. She is coeliac and has to have gluten free. The staff were very friendly and understanding. Contrast this to where we ate the night before. I also react to some foods. They accommodated my request for no capsicum etc. Our meals were delicious and arrived promptly. Neither of us reacted to any foods we ate. The glasses of water we were brought were fresh and no charge. Sure the table had a table mat but it was a clean and pleasant and friendly cafe restaurant.

The place is fairly small and the guy who served us could have been better dressed considering we were having Dinner. But the service was quick and pleasant and the food was superb. In fact probably one of the best Chinese Meals I have ever had. Well worth a visit. And for Switzerland the prices were pretty good also. :)

This is a pleasant little restaurant on the East side. OK for a quick easy meal. Service is friendly. The food is fine if a little basic.
