Carlton-Europe Vintage Adult Hotel, Interlaken

If I could give this place more than a 5 I WOULD. First, its nice and close to the train station. Second, the front desk staff are wonderful. Third, the name suits the hotel perfectly - it is classy and vintage. We were lucky enough to book a top floor room (I THINK it was 403?) in the photo posted of this hotel on trip advisor its the little room with the tiny balcony top floor facing the pool area. I took a photo from inside (see attached) The room itself was fantastic, the bed was SUPER comfy, and all the added touches were charming and cozy. The breakfast here was also very good. We had the best time here and wished we had booked more than 2 nights!

I can’t say enough good things about my stay at the Carlton Vintage Hotel in Interlaken! From the moment my wife and I arrived, I was impressed by how perfectly located it is — just a short five minute and easy walk from the train station, which made arriving with luggage an absolute breeze. Once checked in, I also loved that so many great restaurants and shops were just steps away, so I could easily explore Interlaken on foot without worrying about transportation. The staff were exceptional — extremely friendly and welcoming. Front desk were great, and all make sure every detail of my stay was comfortable and enjoyable, always greeting me with a smile and ready to help with local tips or anything I needed. Fabian and Steve were exceptionally helpful - and and Fabian especially was extremely helpful when I called the hotel in advance of my check in with some questions. My room was large and extremely comfortable and ideal to relax and recharge. It is listed as a "vintage" hotel, and it definitely has vintage charm. It is not your standard modern property, but the vintage charm is perfect and all the decor throughout the lobby and floors add to the overall experience. Overall, the Carlton Vintage Hotel combines an unbeatable location with warm hospitality and wonderful accommodations. It was such a memorable experience, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting Interlaken.

This room really does not meet the standard of a four-star hotel: The Wi-Fi speed is only 7.5/2.1 Mbps. With a nightly rate of $450, shouldn’t there be more Wi-Fi routers installed? The staff even said that one router is shared by two floors! The room is shockingly small—how did this qualify as four stars? The hotel staff left the windows wide open, letting mosquitoes and insects fly inside. The towels are dark and stiff, definitely not what you would expect from a four-star hotel. The included breakfast falls far below industry standards, with very limited choices. With $450 per night rate and a 4-star rating, I am expecting a real 4-star hotel, not this hotel that's worse than a 2-star hotel in facility and service.

We stayed here as part of our package and I am so glad that we stayed here. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to Interlaken OST train station. The funicular was just across the park. We were accommodated on the first floor in a large corner room with three balconies! This was a huge room with a powerful shower and good quality toiletries. The garden with its pond in the back accommodated several dining tables where having an evening meal and breakfast in the morning was truly amazing. One of the other tremendous strength about this hotel are the most courteous and hospitable staff. Just two issues though! The hotel did not provide milk for that ever important morning brew and you had to pay if you wanted an omelette or a poached or fried egg. To be fair though, they did have scrambled eggs included for breakfast. All in all, it was just a wonderful place to rest our heads!

As it’s name: Vintage, it is a very historical hotel. Located just in front of crystal clear Aare river and Harder Kulm funicular, this hotel is in a very good location. Can be reached less than 5 minutes from Interlaken Ost station. Breakfast is standard, with Swiss cheese selection, and a very nice view too. During summertime please be advized that almost hotels in Interlaken do not have air condition. The provide a fan in the room. I think this hotel is pet friendly too.

The hotel is a hodge lodge of old junk and modern tiny rooms, does not have an upscale feel. That wasn’t the issue however - there is no air conditioning and it was 90F I got NO sleep at all - in fact, I actually went outside and had to sleep on an outside couch on the front deck like a street person to get some relief. Do not stay here in the summer unless you like sweat lodges, if you don stay here bring cool packs and a fan - if you open the windows your room fills with flies. Good luck.

Am currently staying here as our base for day trips out. This is a really lovely quirky hotel. It’s ideally placed 2 mins walk from the station. The staff are exceptionally helpful and polite. They have given us loads of suggestions for what do to and where to go to eat. The hotel is full of lovely old pieces of furniture and ornaments and gives it a warm homely feel. The room we had is on the top floor, lovely views and very nicely decorated. The beds are extremely comfortable. The shower is excellent and gives a good flow of water. Breakfast is very nicely served with options to sit outside near the garden. The only negative I have is that the room was very warm but as it’s 32 degrees here at the moment, there is not a lot anyone can do about that, we have been given a fan for the room.

I regularly stay at the Carlton-Europe Hotel in Interlaken for business. The reception staff stands out for their genuine friendliness and helpfulness, and makes me feel truly welcome. That's today unfortunately not a standard anymore. The beds at are very comfortable. The hotel has a lot of historic charm with its vintage décor and interesting exhibits throughout the property. Walking through the lobby and common areas feels like stepping into the good old times, with antique collections and period furnishings that celebrate the hotel's rich heritage. This unique atmosphere sets it apart from more modern accommodations and adds a special character to the stay. The location is ideal, just a five minute walk from Interlaken Ost train station, from where you can catch direct trains to the Jungfrau region, Bern, Zurich, or Basel. The included breakfast buffet offers a good variety of delicious foods. Overall, my experience at the Carlton-Europe Hotel was outstanding. The combination of attentive staff, comfortable accommodations, and the enchanting old-world charm of this historic hotel make the stay truly special. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a blend of comfort, hospitality, and a touch of Swiss history in the heart of Interlaken.

Hotel is in main road and 5 minute walk from rail and bus station . Good staff . Breakfast was good . Room size is very good but they don't have AC only a small fan.they don't provide any toiletries except body wash and towel. Room have balcony.many Indian restaurant within 10 minutes in walking from hotel

Excellent location - close to station, opposite Harder Kulm and restaurants near by. Quick and easy check in process with friendly staff. Rooms not very large but OK. Lobby area is quite interesting with plenty on vintage items. Great breakfast

We stayed here for three days. It was a last minute booking for us because of travel plan change. So it got little heavy on our pockets. However all the worries and doubts vanished once we entered our room. It's a vintage hotel in the heart of interlaken with perfect designs and is maintained flawlessly.

Visited for 3 nights with a tour group, were greeted by very well staff, good explanation of the hotels services, location was perfect, rooms were all different as this was a 120 year old hotel, it was very hot when we visited, no a/c the table fan was too noisy to really sleep with on, however the shutters were just great as you could leave all the windows open to cool the room down, breakfast was good, only had one dinner there but it was served in the garden in delightful surroundings, staff were attentive , adaptor plus to suit the unique Swiss style sockets were available at reception.

We enjoyed our 3 nights stay in this Service was excellent. Hotel located to train station and tours. Our compliments to David and Nicholas, very helpful and polite. Breakfast had a wide selection. Our only criticism was that bed was not comfortable and bath too high, so difficult to get in and out of it. Overall a very good experience at this Hotel and would definitely return to this Hotel.

This is an elegant old world hotel just a short walk from the train station. The rooms are spacious with great views of the city and the alps from the little terrace. Bed was comfortable and we really enjoyed the spa bath and robes. The staff were friendly and helpful. They also have a self service laundry.
